Hearts first of 5 big games left

586

Fixtures between now and the end of the season fall into two categories: games between Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts, and the rest. Aberdeen and Celtic each have to play Hearts home and away, while the only remaining fixture between the top two will take place at Celtic Park.

Despite the last minute turn-around and Aberdeen’s collapse two weeks ago, we are still very much in a title race which a reversal tomorrow would illustrate. Aberdeen don’t play until Sunday, so, as with two weeks ago, they will have to sit on wait on Celtic’s result. Derek McInnes will have marked this game out weeks ago as one he needs Celtic to drop points in.

Celtic have a settled look about the side. The goalkeeper and defenders have settled into good form, while a fully fit Brown and Bitton anchor the midfield. With Leigh Griffiths up front it’s the three places behind the striker Ronny Deila has to make decisions for.

Kris Commons enjoys playing against Hearts and has not been exerted by international football, he should play. Unlike Tom Rogic, who will surely sit out after his trip to Australia. Your guess is as good as mine as to who will play on the flanks.

    Astounded at that one.

KT is the best player in the team.

Pity a few more didnt have the same attitude.

That bhoy is a tremendous player.

Yeah – I also don’t see much difference between KT and EI, but Emilio has certain games where he excels and this is one of them. Plus he’s better at retaining possession. I thought that got you a Ronny tick?

    Canamalar

Commons’ touch and pass is 10 times more intelligent than any other player in that squad. The difference now is that there are fewer and fewer players able to take advantage of his lay-offs. Tierney boots the ball into touch all the time and it raises the roof – I remain unmoved, sir!

Nah, he was dire in the last game, on his game, granted he’s no too bad but they are now few and far between.

Like I said I wasn’t looking to bring any disharmony to the blog I was just disappointed. The barman can be heard saying cmon lads its going to be a long day. I’ve obviously taken that the wrong way.

So your that clown, so here we are how many years later and res12 is still going, it must be a bitter disappointment for you that it’s not failed eh GIRUY

Canamalar. I outed myself, called your bluff.

I’m just a run-of-the-mill Tim of long standing who cared enough to answer the call when you asked for signatures. I also recruited a fellow Tim, a technophobe that I helped upload shareholding details etc, who was as anxious as me that the Board would be called to account through the democratic process of the AGM, irrespective of whether the motion was carried or rejected.

I didn’t sign up to the project coming under the influence of BRTH and Auldheid.

Incidentally, BRTH says that when he met Michael Nicholson and PL at Celtic Park that November to discuss the resolution he didn’t realise that it was the same Michael Nicholson that he had known previously as they had moved in the same legal circles. Bearing in mind that Michael Nicholson had been appointed in March 2013, eight months previously, it stretches credulity that your requisitioner recruit, BRTH was not aware of this. There again, maybe he was sunbathing with Auldheid on the Spanish side of the moon.

Last 30 minutes or so would be his limit,I reckon.

PS-just realised I cribbed CORKCELT. So I must be on the right lines!

  11. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    Haha,CORKCELT noticed it before me!

    Sorry,bud…

  12. For me, the defence picks itself. I would drop Brown, Commons and Mulgrew, although I imagine at least 2, if not all 3, of them will start. I would have a midfield of Johansen, Bitton and McGregor, with GMS, Grifffiths and Richards up front. I expect not just a tough game but a very rough one too, with us on the receiving end and getting no protection from the MIB.

3 points is all I’m concerned about. Anything above and beyond that is a welcome bonus.

  13. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Kill ultra,

Just as well res12 wasn’t run to suit your preferences then eh.

Both Auldheid and BRTH have been invaluable in getting res12 to where we are and contrary to your naysaying and accusations res12 is very much a potent force, and it’s just getting to the tickley bit.

    Not a chance…

  15. Roberts must be picked.

He looks like he can open up a defence.

But 10 minutes here 20 minutes there isn’t the way to find out.

Play him from the start or what’s the point.

And Biton is a dud. He’s read somewhere that he’ll end up in the EPL and believes it’s gonny happen soon.

    Oh my aching sides!

Canny tackle, canny jump, too slow, slows the game down and the rest.

    Why would anyone pick him.

At a loss for that one.

Allan or Christie before Biton anytime.

These Bhoys have something to prove.

    Play them.

  16. Up and Over

Another player who I’d like to see start this game is Izaguirre. He always plays well v Hearts at Celtic Park. I know this is a minority view, but I think it’s shame his Celtic career has been sacrificed to bring through Tierney, who I don’t see as that good a player.

    ———

Dude it’s past midday so less of the wind ups!

Love wee EI to bits. But KT is a far more reliable defender and offers more consistent accuracy with his attacking passing.

    POTY in my opinion.

I think we’re naive and miss a trick though with the either/or option. It’s one of the most physically demanding roles in our team. They should spell one another. We were running izzy’s slightly ageing legs into the ground with relentless 90 mins shifts. Now we could risk doing the same to a kid under 20 in his first full season.

    Very comfortable.

    And he’s a fit lad.

I’d play him from the start.

Sub him if he starts to tire, or when we are 4-0 up.

    Ye never know!

What you say about BRTH having previousl had working relationships with Michael Nicholson is true then BRTH has some explaining to do.

I have always harboured doubts about BRTH. His stories are wonderful and his own life experiences and the famous people he knows can sometimes seem too good to be true.

In 2014 I wrote a scathing piece on the Speculative Society of Edinburgh who I am largely responsible for bringing to the greater public’s attention in 2001 and posted it on Twitter and was surprised to get a DM from BRTH saying “Interesting story — even more interesting is the attack on the Spec! I know many members — they will not be chuffed lol”

He looks less and less like the people’s champion he purports to be in my book and this is what concerned me when he and Auldheid came out of the shadows to take over a requisition that I had supported in the name of Canamalar who I knew, or judged to be a regular punter.

It looked to me then like a hi-jacking by board friendly people and and nothing since then has changed my opinion though my interst now is largely academic.

    H.H.

  23. Aside for the wonder winner and the joy that particular moment generated, for 90 minutes against Killie we were the definition of pish.

Slow of wit and tempo, bereft of urgency and desire.

To get a result against Hearts we need quite a few players to get the finger out and start playing like the champions they pretend to be.

Regards res 12 – probably the most noble effort a section of a Celtic support has made to right wrongs since the days of Celts For Change. A work of intellect, forged by dedication and applied knowledge with attention to detail that you would expect from highly-paid due dilligence.

It’s been a remarkable crusade to have it recognised. That some rail against it with venom is also remarkable – marking them as lashing out in ignorance or perhaps in positions fearing loss of control (Hello, board lackeys!).

If the Celtic board had the wits to match their expertise in operating this PLC (Ah, but they don’t come hand-in-hand – many an accountant thought that book-keeping equated to company management; night and day) they might realise there are fans out there doing their jobs for them for zip, and willing to take the heat, and offer encouragement and facillitate action rather than shut their eyes and lob obstacles in the way.

Young Teirney – sorry SMSM wanks, the Lhad will be at the Hoops at least another 5 years, probably captain the side and play regularly for Scotland. When we do sell him – and maybe only if necessary – we’ll do so for a sum equivalent to 3 years of yer tribute acts entire turnover. Provided they’re still in their current living dead condition and not extinct – again.

  24. Up_Over_Goal

Commons has struggled to pass to a team mate all season.

    He is a liability.

As for difference between Tierney and Emilio?

    Both are high energy players.

Only one can tackle and cross and it ain’t Emilio.

    Philbhoy

    Agreed Biton is an imposter.

Should be nowhere near the team.

Big reason we have struggled for any fluidity all season.

  25. Excuse me if I am wrong but is not one of the fundamental differences between modern Hearts and modern Celtic is Hearts pay their employees a living wage and our glorious moral and ethical Celtic don’t.

And all you affluent detractors of the living wage who have asked favours for their children in isolation who decry the living wage…. Well honestly… night.. night.

You are more plastic than plastic but I’ll still be there for YOUR children if they need me, because that is the way my parents raised me.

They raised me to have compassion not only for the poor but for the rich too.

But there exists a line, a line I never drew with my insensitivity but you drew with your greed. Your greed of peace of mind at the expense of another’s time and compassion.

Is that the Celtic way you so enthusiastically profess.

I for I can live without such an abortion of the essence of the Celtic ethos.

And yet I will never deny another’s fears own as mine own fears. Especially when it comes to blood and family.

Long story short… look in the mirror and for the love of God and Humanity… pay the Living Wage.

Our aspiration as a Club should be to both bring through a generation of KT Bhoys but also to have Club match their aspirations and achievements so that they don’t feel the need to leave.

Top players always seem to “need a new challenge” nowadays. Even at top clubs.

But I agree,it would be great if we finally got a regular run of one or two teens per year breaking through.

    Aye,I can dream…

  28. My heart sinks when Kris Commons starts for Celtic these days. Unfit and a terrible first touch, he continually loses possession. Can’t understand what Ronny sees in him. It’s all about opinions, I think he’s a liability.

  29. Paul 67

    Commons ??

    seriously?

Commons has had plenty opportunities this last month, and not shown anything. He is still a mile out fitness and sharpness wise.

Rogic will be involved tomorrow as an impact player, sub. And that’s fair enough given 2 games with Australia and so much flight travel.

But GMS and McGregor have shown bette form over the last month than Commons, and they deserve to start.

I may get shot down for this, but I’d start Johansen beside those 2.

As for Commons, would be lucky to get on bench ahead of Rogic, and Patrick Roberts, if it was up to me.

Everyone over 25 now receives £7.20 per hour. Not far off the mark refused by our board last season.
