Hearts first of 5 big games left

586

Fixtures between now and the end of the season fall into two categories: games between Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts, and the rest. Aberdeen and Celtic each have to play Hearts home and away, while the only remaining fixture between the top two will take place at Celtic Park.

Despite the last minute turn-around and Aberdeen’s collapse two weeks ago, we are still very much in a title race which a reversal tomorrow would illustrate. Aberdeen don’t play until Sunday, so, as with two weeks ago, they will have to sit on wait on Celtic’s result. Derek McInnes will have marked this game out weeks ago as one he needs Celtic to drop points in.

Celtic have a settled look about the side. The goalkeeper and defenders have settled into good form, while a fully fit Brown and Bitton anchor the midfield. With Leigh Griffiths up front it’s the three places behind the striker Ronny Deila has to make decisions for.

Kris Commons enjoys playing against Hearts and has not been exerted by international football, he should play. Unlike Tom Rogic, who will surely sit out after his trip to Australia. Your guess is as good as mine as to who will play on the flanks.

I think Watford might get a draw there, and 25 CQN’ers being unhappy!

Empty vessels make a lot of noise.

    But produce little of value.

There is a vocal support on here too.

    Don’t lose sight of that.

He finishes at noon in stenhousemuir so ordinarily we’d likely miss a chunk of the first half.

But after last Saturday I’ll be wearing my CQN St Wits/Chistopher and will have faith that you’ll get us there in Jobo’s teleporter!!

  6. The guys that have carried Res 12 forward deserve nothing but praise and heartfelt thanks. Anybody questioning their motives and what they have done are no friends of Celtic imo.

Always worth it, not necessarily always successful though. There will always be people with differing views as well and that is ok as well.

    Well Said.

There has been too much shoot the messenger stuff coming out from Celtic fans who are disappointed at the rate of progress or who feel the Board are playing fast and loose, but who have failed to exclude or have deliberately included one, two, or all 4 of the Resolutionists in their sight too.

Apart from canamalar’s response last night, the replies from all four of them has been an example of saintly restraint.

I can understand fan frustration. I can understand suspicion as to why there is a need for secrecy when all here know they (SFA and Deid club) cheated, and about being seen to be (currently) on the losing side of this battle but taking out that frustration on the guys working hardest to make it a success is petty and divisive. Selecting one or more out of the 4 main protagonists for selective criticism, because their views on the Board or on polite discourse do not accord with yours, is even more bizarre.

These 4 guys have different qualities and every one of them have contributed those qualities to the whole endeavour. I have no favourites among them- they are all doing work I applaud and I admire them equally for it.

Some, but not all, of their critics have let themselves down badly over the last few days and I hope that we will not see a repeat of it again.

P.S. I exclude the critics who have ptargeted a daft conflation of Celtic trust and Res. 12 issues as they are either false flag posters (in the case of Alfie Thompson-Pastry and The Donald Dick) or they are confused “reds under the beds” chasers like Macjay and Tony Donnelly. Those guys have not landed a blow and are fairly harmless.

    THE MCP-01

Many moons ago i was employed on the construction of a gas rig

in the icy North sea for Total oil, it was the Manifold Conversion

Platform-01 but we all only knew it as the MCP-01 which gave us a

    few laughs later on.

It was an unusual job for the fact there were so many Celtic fans on

the one contract probably due to the fact the sub contracting human

resources manager was very friendly with a Celtic park stalwart who

we all knew well, so most of the recruitment was done in the CSC on

the London rd and lots of pubs in the Gallowgate, i filled in my form

in Bairds lounge on the Sat. and started the following week.

incidentally it was where i first met the fighting McMillan brothers all

boxers who I’ve mentioned before who turned to scaffolding after

their retirement and our very own Paddymacoz fought two of them in

the ring ( not at the same time ) before he came to Oz and they fairly

kept us amused on many a freezing shift offshore.

The company allowed a smoking hut on the under deck and a couple

of them had made a cross from two bits of scaffold and clipped it to

the apex of the roof of the corrugated steel hut and applied a sign…

The Chapel… which kept it zombie free and many a spontaneous

Celtic song burst out with us all stamping our feet to keep the frozen

wind coming up through the open gratings at bay.

I digress, there were eight of us seven tims and one stickie an amiable

big chap called Rab fae Killwinning ( where else ) who travelled together

every trip on the train up to Aberdeen we had a small tape player and

as you do after a few drinks the reb tunes went on and the singing and

dancing started, sometimes that trip was like the wild west and the

authorities spoke about banning offshore personnel from travelling on

the trains although i don’t know how they would have accomplished that

but it was just a last attack on the drink before two or three weeks of the

    heebie jeebies.

Months had went by the same old story until big Rab who had sat quietly

drumming his fingers and humming away, ( always thought he should have

been a tim ) suddenly blurted out ” Uv jist released whit that MCP-01 means

this joab is aw Micks, Catholics, and Papes and the odd wan( ker ) me is a

ragers supporter ” cue much laughter but as he had endured our Celtic

tapes all that time and it was his birthday next trip up we reluctantly said he

could bring a ragers tape nothing too animated mind you and we would play

it ( must have been rat errsed )

The big day arrived and he produced his music it was Lex Mclean or someone

of that ilk and we duly played it as our promise, nothing too lively just follow

follow some other bland stuff but it was only on five minutes when the doors

flew open and in barged four scaffs with those big steel podgers in their hands

intent on smashing our little music machine to smithereens, the look on their

faces when they saw who we were was priceless but the music maker was still

at peril, after a bit of argy bargy and even a crocodile Dundee moment when

people went into their kitbags and we had a ” thats not a podger this is ” but it

all blew over and Lex Mclean got thrown in the bin, big Rab sitting smiling said

” see you Cellic supporters canny take yeez anywer.

Surprisingly that contract was finished on time and in budget and the seven

tims and the odd wan ( ker ) moved on to another job in the Norwegian sector

to sing our songs and keep the Celtic name loud and proud.

I wonder if Ronnie heard us?
