I could be wrong but did Scott actually connect for his goal? It looks to me like it only came of the Hertz player. Scott certainly caused it but I think he didn’t touch with his instep.
Did LG really cross the ball or was he actually trying a shot? Did BR really want to send SS on or was it a forced change? OMG any other ways to find a negative after such a super victory and a wonderful goal?

I agree.Hearts should be up on a team disorder charge with their 7 bookings.
I caught bits of the first half and then most of the second right up until the end. A fantastic result against a team that was trying to bully us (obviously thought the same frailties of last season could be exposed) but they failed. They kicked us, barged us, and tried to cheat us but a winning mentality shone through in the Celtic team. The bhoys stuck together and kept going. BR’s tactics were spot on – 3 different systems in a single half could be considered madness…or is it genius? ;)
The winning goal was a thing of beauty…and very impressive in terms of athleticism.
Still work to do but what a great opening day result and showing of resilience. Bounced into work today.
Also, that’s two teams in a row we have faced that have very poor discipline and tried to turn the game into a kicking match: Astana and Hearts. Will Motherwell go for 3 in a row?

Just looked at the table and Celtic are languishing in THIRD place – despite having a hugely superior budget. What is PL doing about that and so much for BR great managerial skills.
BTW SS is on a yellow card and the thug who almost broke KT’s leg is also on a yellow card

4 th officials are fond of wandering near TVs showing replays during games.
They get the message to the ref.

Don’t know why BR was not snapped up down here or abroad. Yesterday’s post match interview was quite astounding! Don’t think I’ve ever seen a manager invited to do a full studio interview straight after a game before. If it was prearranged well good on BR. Can you imagine how uncomfortable it would have been for him if the result hadn’t gone our way? The gloating of McCann and Tanner? Big baws has our Brendan.

As one of the lucky ones to get a ticket amongst our reduced allocation at Tynecastle.
I always enjoy a win there.
Ayebrokes ,Pittodrie and Tynecastle will be our most difficult away venues.
So winning there was big.
As many will know I always have a critical eye when watching Celtic.
The manger got his tactics right.
Toure had a very good game.
Brown had a really good game.
Forrest was a mixed bag ,sometimes great ,sometimes pathetic.
We lack power in the tackle in midfield.
Dembele continues to impersonate Bangura.
Griffiths is a jewel.
Sinclair took his goal well and has pace.
I hope he isn’t lightweight .
Rogic had a shocker when he came on.
Tierney is a Celtic warrior.
O’Connell did well ,but needs to keep it simple .
All in all .
A great three points ,but the performance was not great ,especially in the second half.
HAHAHA, it would certainly make the journey more enjoyable on sunny mornings like today :)

Celtic, well done on that hard fought victory. Another week on,winning learning as we go, good subs again as posters point out switchin tactically at the back and of course Sinclairs goal,!:-).we look comfortable in possession and sloppy passes are decreasing.
Looking forward to Motherwell game on wednesday.well done to every Celtic fan attending.

If there was a silver lining at all (big if i know) over the cup semi shoot out last season, it is that it has produced unrealistic expectations and sense of entitlements to the tribute followers. Which is astounding really. A ”club” that has put together a team for free from the lower leagues of english football are no different from the vast majority of spfl teams. One of my bluenose acquaintances told me at the start of the season he didnt think there was much difference between them and us. I just laughed and shook my head. No point in trying to reason with the deluded.
Do you think BR might be tempted to go 3-5-2 on Wednesday against Motherwell?

You are quite right. Their expectations for their limited team of mercenaries are hovering somewhere above the stratosphere. Joey Barton may soon begin to feel a little bit like Felix Baumgartner…

Young niece & family had my wee girl up at St Andrews on Thursday, they had a great time, if Scotland could guarantee the weather even for a week there would be no need to fly anywhere, enjoy the rest of your break…… I think the result in Gibraltar has worked in Brendan’s favour and the players seem to be responding (by the way a lot of the same players cost Ronny his job) although if it wasn’t for Ronny we wouldn’t have Brendan :-)

Some of his “tackles” on Saturday were deserving of cards. One in particular would get him his P45 from any team I was involved with.

The signing of Scott Sinclair shows indeed the Lawell era has gone
For 5 years his policy was strict regarding the signing of forwards
Had to be right age and a project
It failed dramatically and cost financially in signing duds and lost European income ran into the tens of millions
Scott has proven himself before and when his contract runs out he will be wrong side of 30
Boom he scores Sorry Peter you have been proved wrong Why are you still at celtic park ?

Early days. I advise caution in your hyperbolic praise of Celtic after such a good result.
TPL might be balancing current needs in terms of satisfying the requirements of BR,DD and the support against the prospect of riding out the storm and reinforcing his status over the next two years or so.
A lot of things can change over such a period. Managers, for one.
I’m sure his descent shall be slowed by the thermals produced by the SMSM blowing smoke up his arse.
The BBC full match analysis of him is truly cringeworthy. And yet, there is no minute by minute analysis of the highest profile player on show in SPFL at the weekend; Kolo Toure?
I spent a wonderful day yesterday watching the game in a right good Tim pub, the Captain Morgan in Hayes. Great wee boozer full of wonderful Ghirls and Bhoys.
I was just about to leave when I met old time CQN’r Cyrenian (sp?) for the first time. What a gent! I’ve not met a CQN’r yet who isn’t. Well that was the cue for me staying for an extended drinking session, a natter and a great wee sing song. If you are ever in that area a visit to Captain Morgan’s is a must. Many of the guys travel quite a distance to watch the game there.
