  1. GERRYFAETHEBRIG,

When the big lump scored he ran right to the corner of us/them with the salute.

Was at the other end of the stand but, if I can see it.

That’s beside the point he should have been off before that but, ah feck it …

Celtic, if you are quite happy for your players getting assaulted then, THEY won’t be here long.

Is that the plan for keeping quiet?

    Money?

  2. I doubt if a Club could ban it’s players for playing for their Country, & in any case I feel it should be the Players choice.

Look today was a huge shock to all of us, I shudder at what odds you would have got for 4-O Hertz.

However it’s our reaction to what happened today is the main thing.

If we come storming back & beat Thistle & The Sheep then today could be seen as just a massive blip.

If we slip up again we just might have a serious problem.

Personally I can’t wait for Weds.

  3. Anybody listen to Simon Ferry’s excellent interviews? I caught the last part of Kris Commons today, and something really annoyed me.

Both he and Charlie Mulgrew have laid the blame for the sub-party performances under Ronny Delia squarely on the players’ diet. Commons even went as far as to say it wasn’t Deila’s fault directly, but he was being advised wrongly by the nutritionist/dietician he had brought in.

Both he and Charlie said they looked great, but had zero energy. Rodgers has clearly fixed this, but why on earth was the manager (football department) bringing in a nutritionist (sports science dept)??

At any serious club, these sort of appointments would transcend whoever the manager is, and the appropriate medical, physio, sports science, S&C, nutrition etc would report directly to a head of performance. These are important building blocks that have to be in place. The football manager should not be making these appointments – and it really would appear that failing to control these areas properly has cost the club substantially during the Delia era.

  4. CORKCELT on 17TH DECEMBER 2017 10:16 PM,

    Well, the huns done it.

Watch the first ten minutes again, anywhere else in Europe they are down to 9/8 men.

Laffatus should have been off after 5 mins but, no, the assaults continued via the SFA REF, therefore, we are all injured as the old huns used to do. Then, tell the feckers why.

  10. My boy is looking through his ticket stubs from every away game Celtic have played since Brendan took over. He only missed one game on the remarkable journey we have been on, the home game against Aberdeen at the start of last season as he was still away on holiday.

He calls me a part-timer as I’ve missed four games in the run! Everything is relative I suppose.

Last week there was a discussion about our favourite memories at Hampden. For me none is better than that wonderful moment in May when Tom Rogic scored the winner in the Cup Final.

On Wednesday and for the rest of the season, two minutes after we sing for the Lions we should all stand up for the Champions. They deserve the applause.

  12. Arrived down in Manchester, listened to radio on way down and quite amazing how the phone in shows were talking about the crisis at Spurs. Such a great season last time, key players not quite at it, transfer rumours of key players being cherry picked, was last season a high water mark?

A lot of bollocks as usual just to fill the air time however a lot of what was being discussed could equally apply to us this season.

I still feel that our own support, or the majority of them, fail to understand where the SPFL ranks in the modern game.

We ( Scottish clubs) are now frequently gubbed by European opposition, in EL and CL .

Our club sides are staffed with good honest players and too few good ones. I would love to see the 2 young Hearts players developed into good players, as I would our own young Lhads .

I hope all of them grow into great players and do not have to follow the path of a Ryan Gauld in an attempt to escape the brutal state of our own top division.

I hope we can become a country which will produce more KT’s and fewer hammer throwers. HH

  13. Colour Blind Bhoy on

Have been very busy today so didn’t manage to catch aftermath of game, hope the fans gave the players the ovation their outstanding domestic run deserved. I’m sure they did and I know that our away fans will be back out in force soon cheering the Bhoys on to a great second half of the season.

Just watched the post match analysis and thought Brendan was as dignified and professional as ever. I also thought Craig Levin kept the result in perspective whilst Hayley the Hun was wetting herself at us no longer being invincible.

Thank you Brendan, thank you to the players and thank you Celtic for making me feel very proud to be a supporter.

  14. At any stage of the match, but especially the first 20 minutes, look at Laffertys coupon.

    A complete and utter hun.

  15. 69 undefeated.

1690 years the hunfinder general has been trying to find a handsome hun.

Lafferty is one ugly hearted bastard.

  16. Jmccormack

    My youngest son is 25.

Between the ages of 13-16 he played football.

I thought he was quite good. He played for a team who entered summer tournaments on the continent. When up against English or Irish teams it was a battle. His team could hold their own but preferred to play football. Against the continental teams it was pure football. No hard man stuff. And here’s the thing. The French played football where no tackling was allowed. If you got a French ref he’d blow the whistle for ANY contact and give a free kick. This allowed all the players to try/show their skills and gave them confidence knowing they weren’t going to be hacked down. We parents kind of scoffed at that idea. Now I look at the French National team and see the boys at my sons age strutting their stuff, and I compare them to what we are producing. I often wonder if our youth football followed the same mantra would my son and many others have made it.

Last season was the best season I’ve ever witnessed. Absolutely amazing football, consistency, results and silverware.

It would be amazing if every season was like that but then it wouldn’t be amazing any more would it?

This season the team are somehow expected to not only do that again but to become even better.

Maybe and hopefully they will get better, maybe their football will somehow be even better to watch but even if/when they achieve that it’s extremely doubtful they will ever manage to go so long without suffering a defeat as they have just done.

That record didn’t stand for so long because it was an easy thing to do yet they did it. I’d say those players and this team are getting unrealistic expectations piled on them now.

I guess they are victims of their own success to a certain extent but they are legends for what they have done.

  18. 31003

The SPFL your league is very much like that.

There were one or two teams who broke that mould. No prizes for guessing which.

I know the youth leagues were having a real battle trying to do away with goals for the youngest age groups.

  19. bottom line is you have to win the 50/50 tackles, we dont.

now if you want i could give you plenty of xcelts that won the 50/50 tackles. talk to bertie maybe ho could make a come back.

to many on here moan about refs and how rough those players are that we play against, for gods sake grow a pair.

  20. Treble Winning Captains

    Agree regarding Big Tams goal

Was in Kelly’s in Cumbernauld and as it was roasting (stand down Cowiebhoy) they had the door wedged open.

Despite barely being able to run across a road nowadays, when Big Tam slammed in that goal that seeled the Invincible treble I bolted out that door and just ran and ran despite my big mate being left to jump about on on his own wondering where the feck I’d ran off to!

  21. Anyway bawbaws for me.

Guess football will be a talking point at work tomorrow morning for only the 3rd time this year.

  22. No tears in this hoose for a defeat that was long coming.

Posted before game that last 5 games were – WDWDW – a draw was due but now goes down as L.

69 undefeated is remarkable and worthy of respect and our thanks.

  23. 16 roads - Celtic über alles... on

Lafferty looks like a half goat, half wolf.

Doesn’t really matter though – it does what it does and always has done.

It bullied our defenders about all over the place, and they allowed it to bully them.

That’s their problem, not the half wolf, half goat’s problem.

Was thinking after the first five minutes that one of our defenders should wipe it out – never happened though, and the rest is history.

  24. Invincible only our own wee shitey back yard, just like any yank team that wins the WORLD series of baseball

  25. A historic accomplishment for Celtic and Brendan. Ah well all good things come to an end. In much the same way when Lawwell took Paul67 under his cloak of respectability CQN became an OAP Legion of Mary and PLC compliance palace of pish.

  27. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

I see Brendan failed to motivate the team agains SPL dross and people are making excuses for substandard play. Tired players is not a reasonable excuse, they only work twice a week in a well paid job they proclaim to love, in fact it’s no even a job it’s a game. As for the pressure of winning, what a load of codswallop that is the work attached to the game and what they are paid megabucks for.
