  1. What an absolutely fantastic 3 years we have had, brilliant. Congratulations all at CELTIC for making this happen. We really have been spoiled these last 3 years with such a brilliant team.

To me , the future is looking good as we have a good few young players on the edge of the first team, players who really do , look the business.

Whoever is lucky enough to be the next manager of this club we hold so dear, I wish him and the players the very very best.

Great to be a CELTIC fan , right enough.

  2. Superb day in the centre of the Celtic end just above the Green Brigade, where we even got to sit in our seats, at half time all bibbed up.

Massive blow to have Keiran Tierney missing, Jonny Hayes had a torrid day but in the end plugged the gap on the left, where the occasion was a bit much for 19 year old Mikey Johnston playing ahead of him. Neil Lennon’s switching wingers didn’t work either, nor did the introduction of Scott Sinclair but the game was won through the middle where Celtic’s record signing Odsonne Edouard again proved class act.

Quality counts and BR’s words that the main deal was done when we bought Eddy, proved prophetic in the end, with Odsonne’s vital goals at Tynecastle, Pittodrie, Dens Park and Hampden, won the treble treble.

Much maligned Mikael Lustig was immense, as were Kris Ajer and Jozo Simunovic in a game where Hearts looked like they were playing for penalties, by half time, until they got a ball breaker in front of goal, for their first shot and only shot on target. Best time to lose a goal just after half time not just before, and Celtic charged towards the temporarily stunned Celtic end, scene of so many Scottish Cup triumphs.

Tom Rogic couldn’t find the wide open spaces of Hampden he thrives on, but Celtic had Edouard in store for tiring Hearts and the big guy bore in on goal twice, once to be chopped, and once to chip the same keeper, for the most fitting of goals that won the only ever triple treble.

The heaving throngs of Celtic fans marched away in all directions into the night, to celebrate.

Of course Neil will overhaul this team, how many times have you heard him say, “that’s not my team’?

If you are upset about Neil getting the job because you think he will go with the tried and tested think again, it will be a new Celtic Team next season, one that Neil will be happy to proclaim – ‘thats my team’. Looking forward to it.

  4. Jeez Lenny hasnt even accepted the job, this board really know how to balls things up. They couldn’t just annouce it’s his job, they annouce he’s been offered it, and Lenny is considering it. Amatuers

Am defo not saying Neil is the best we can/could have got (he might be :-) and like many others I wasn’t averse to something new …. but Neil’s job was to secure league & cup (with Brendan’s Bhoys) by the way I have enjoyed you & James’s posts this week and appreciate everybody had differing views on our new manager .. am personally happy with the choice and I will judge Neil when he is playing his players and not Brendan’s :-)

    Pissed up romantics ???

Been like a triple expresso shot since.

    ‘sighs’.

  10. I agree 100% with what kinglubo said

Neil is maybe not my first choice but he has my full support. Was privileged to watch the game in Lisbon today. It’s an emotional day and every Celtic supporter should be proud. If you have any other emotion for our club today then I feel sorry for you. God bless every Celtic fan worldwide

Love your poetic match reports . You even make it sound like a good game! -))

  12. Congratulations to Neil Lennon! The Prodigal Son comes home to Celtic.

Team and Club need refreshing anyhow after our collective efforts in recent years.

Neil will do that and more, if given the support. He’s got mine!

  13. Sons are a unnerved with Neil’s appointment (assuming he accepts the offer)

I certainly am NOT a fan of the style of play since he returned, nor indeed his final season.

However, if he re-enacts bringing back the thunder and the style of play he had in the beginning, then that will be just fine.

As with EVERY Celtic player and manager / coach, Neil gets my full support whilst in the job – which doesn’t mean exemption from criticism.

  14. Clink\o/ 3x3 on

All I really need to say thank you Lenny.

You more than just got us over the line

whether he is your choice or your favourite

Lets just back the manager even if it means biting your lips

  15. good god almighty, sacked by hibs and Bolton, now he is the messiah, heaven help us

Gamboa man of match in waiting

Our squad needs a wee injection of freshness …. not an overhaul, we have a young team used to winning, winning is a habit :-)

Congratulations to Neil Francis Lennon (if he takes the job)

I for one will be proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with you against all those who hate what we stand for.

Good night all and thank you for being here.

what will be will be CSC

  18. GFTB

Would love to fella but seriously there has to be a place on the blog tonight for those fed up with a board (Not Neil Lennon) and their utter crapness.

We’ve gone backwards with this appointment. I hope it isn’t that far to catch the increase in hun performance but at the moment who knows. Neil looked clueless against their u18 coach.

The world of football has moved beyond Neil and a track record of failures at Bolton and Hibs would have us rebelling if it wasn’t him.

    Our board are absolute shitebags…

  19. By his own admission, not good enough for Celtic in 2014…

Then not good enough for Bolton…..

Then definitely not good enough for Hibs….

But clearly cheap enough for the current board.

If theres any way possible to give the support a kick in the teeth, then sure enough, our club will find it. Embarrassing…

  20. HI PHILBHOY, im not going to argue with you I love and know you as a respected poster, but this is a backward step but its all about opinions.hh hope you are well.

  21. Lenny has thanked Lawwell for keeping his word.

Lawwell said Lenny was getting appointed regardless of the result today.

So, it would appear Neil was offered the job if he got us over the line in the league.

He took over with 8 games to go and 8 points clear. The majority of the league games were turgid and lacking in cohesion.

Regardless of how we feel about the appointment, there’s no doubt it’s extremely short sighted. A potentially historic decision taken on the basis of 8 league games.

He’s not the messiah, just a very naught bhoy who’s just gone and delivered the Treble Treble. Doesn’t get much worse really does it?

  24. An Dun

Dead easy to say short sighted…based on what ?

BR had us turgid a good few games last & this season

    IMO

Anyway….party time for me. Enjoy the time. Cause the hun press will be on our case

  25. Can we stop the nonsense about Neil not accepting the job, please.

Where do people think he’ll go to if he doesn’t take the job ?

    Juventus ?
