At under 21s we played east of Scotland league … bowling greens then we drew Campsie … think nearly every player was s-formed circa 1989 think Paul Dickovs brother was playing we beat them and the next semi final was the Joe Miller final and the rest is history :-) whit a day

  2. David66

I went to Hampden not the teams semi final :-)

    You reap what you sow

  3. GFTB— but did they also play Sunday amateur as well as Saturday juvenile or whatever…

In other words you would play 4/5 games a week under different names???

    D. :)

  4. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

If Neil Lennon is backed by some.serious finance there should be no issue in delivering and continuing to deliver.

Brendan gave us 7 of the 9 but NFL had to finalise the nine. He will lead us to ten and beyond

I dont understand the unhappiness of some of the Celtic support today, on this historical day.

3ssy nice one bruv but leave weefra be, he,s a top fella.

Voguepunter, you are an expert judge of character ya mentalist.

    HH Celtic men and wummin

P.S. If its good enough for the prince of the emarald isle, Ist good enough for me.

  5. GFTB– I wasn’t that good a player but I would play every day of the week at all age groups, junior at 14 etc, just loved playing football. Played against s forms, pros, amateurs… And I’m not trying to wind you up, but I could not give a flying feck who I played against as long as I was playing football…. My appetite for the game got me into some sticky situations in areas of Glasgow that did not like other ares of Glasgiw etc…. But I flew into tackles regardless of what went on off the park…. I think I’m away off on a tangent… Pushed etc. Hail Hail

A cracking social life … played with the Sarrie Heid for a season … but went back to Eastenders for Sunday karaoke .,, I was in my 20s and shit scared … thankfully I could kick the ball …

    Then I got married :-)

One of my old amateur mangers posts on here “Big Shuggy” he will confirm I wasn’t the best as well .. the heart of a lion the bigger the centre half entices me more …

But big Shuggy posted I could win and score a penalty … :-)

As soon as MissGFTB was born football career ended (not before time)

  8. Love Neil Lennon

But would preferred us to be more forward thinking

Will Neil be given the Dembele money and the Rodgers money. Or will it be projects. If it’s projects. Kiss ten in a row bye and any progress in Europe

Will Neil be allowed to bring in a experienced no 2. Or is he stuck with lawells man who has never even been a no 4 :(

Peter lawell will get away with Losing the ten in a row as spin ( via paul67) has worked to cover up his failures

  9. GFTB – Sunday football was not about kicking a ball?

We used to take a bag of tools with us and it was not for fixing cars….themes were the apples Castlemilk, Possil, Garngad, Rutherglen tough times required tough actions?

But, but there was good football, I knew a lot of opposing players who played against or with me on a Saturday but the schemes won it on a Sunday.

    D. :)

  10. Sydney Tim

Do you know JR from Coatbrig ? Think he is the Sydney CSC president

  11. GFTB – I, like you love/loved the Beautiful game.

My dad and uncle George were good players, harder men than me, Duntocher Hibs a junior team from a bygone era in front of 25,000 and Ayr Utd etc, my dear auld dad used to say I have the height and physic to go all the way, but alas women ad drink took over.

    D. :)

  12. David66 1.48am

I know the score am a scheme bhoy myself …. BUT when not in your own comfort zone it can be pretty scary.. standing outside the Sarry Heid and a few boys were talking about other players being stabbed as if they were just late …. terrific grounding :-)

  13. David66 1.53am

There are millions of us … Billy “badger” McKinlay was our school football team captain… would he be first picked … never in a million years but while others were too busy chasing birds or even kidding on they could fight … sometimes it’s luck… if you had KTs determination you might have made it … funnily enough o never really was a drinker it was more Celtic and birds that caught my attention :-)

  14. GFTB– these are fantastic times, I am Absoloutley hyper….

I cannot believe we have won a tr3ble tr3ble omg.

Kylie & Jason … I went with the best looking burd in the scheme .. whooft many a “disagreement” she got me into … BUT Peter Grant &

    Entitlement …. we deserve better

  18. Am pretty sure Brendan left in early 2019 and could have destroyed that team

Congratulations to the treble treble winning team. A team assembled by Brendan.

  19. Celtic should just be Celtic

Life is too short … sometimes far too short

    Enjoy Celtic

Might not have been my first choice

    But like me & you

    Neil Francis Lennon …

    Quad treble ? ?

  20. Thank You Celtic.

    Incredible achievement.

A very insightful comment from earlier…..

    ………………………………………………………….

Mea Culpa on 26th May 2019 12:10 am

One of the greatest achievements of this side is their self-discipline. Confronted with opponents who use physical assault as their primary tactics, Hearts being possibly the worst example, the Celtic players show quite incredible control. The number of assaults on SB and ST in particular is astonishing and we can’t forget RC sitting in the stand watching the game yesterday, after a head-butt which smashed his face up, had it been a few inches to the side it could very well have killed him.

It shows a complete lack of awareness of the game, all these so-called experts spouting forth about how wonderful Hearts were. If you look actually observed what went on you will see a team which were sent out to use any means to disrupt Celtic. They fouled persistently and took every opportunity to hit the deck whenever a Celtic player came near them.

Just watch the game again and count the number of times Hearts players went down without any real contact. There was one laughable moment in the game when the action replay was showing and quite clearly the commentator (can’t recall which one) was trying to describe how he had been fouled but the replay clearly showed the player going down long before any contact was made. The commentator then had to quickly change what he was in the process of saying.

The Celtic players were fouled all over the park with no punishment by the MIB, not leg-breaking fouls, no, much more subtle tugs, obstruction etc… but consistent.

Such tactics should be deplored by the media. Call it for what it is, deliberate cheating. Instead we have a panel of experts praising Levein’s tactics.

Collum wanted to get through the game without the media focussing on him. He got his wish.

That does not mean he did a good job. He enabled the cynical tactics employed by Hearts by turning a blind eye to the blatant and deliberate ploy of disrupting Celtic’s play by illegal means. These players should have been booked and facing the prospect of a red if they continued.

One of Collum’s worst decisions, of no major import but shows his appalling judgement, was when TR was being blatantly man-handled by 2 Hearts players. Trying to stay on his feet he grabbed one of the opponents shirt … peep, free-kick. Evidently, only maroon shirts are not tuggable.

There are many who claim that all this is just part of the game. No it isn’t, it is blatant cheating. Let’s put it this way, had Celtic employed such deplorable tactics would they be dismissing it as simply part of the game? I don’t think so. You’d never hear the end of it.

Next season will see this ascend to astronomical levels.

Congratulations to the Celtic squad for their success, achieved without resorting to the negative, game destroying tactics of so many of their opponents.

  21. I hope the Celtic Board back Neil to the hilt and really make a Statement of intent.

    Brilliant scenes all around Glasgow.

    The Shamrock is growing.

  22. He’s not even the best Hibs manager this season, yet according to Lawwell, he’s the best possible manager that we could attract….

That is how low our sights are set for next season…

And to those morons on here who think that any who dare criticise the appointment are huns….grow up.

  23. Petec 2.56am

Sometimes we don’t realise how fortunate we are :-)

Am going to try and stop arguing I’m here …

    Fred :-)

  24. Don’t believe a word i type .. far too many not Celtic fans

Imagine your life if your team has died and you kid on your Tim ….

    31003 & unlucky Cody

    Love you to bits

  25. GFtb. Ahh Dallas Dallas. That trip to Amsterdam all those years ago. George McCluskey winner

    On another note

James Forrest. I just don’t get it. Soo many games with zero contribution. Well

Actually I tell a lie just watched a rerun of game

His Only contribution was losing his marker at Their goal. I can not remember a Poorer Celtic player of the year

Sorry he has played so many games and Europe and very little contribution

  26. Found out the result sitting in Orlando airport.

Haven’t seen game yet so decided to read the CQN live updates first.

Finally watched it and, very finally, relieved that we are Treble Treble winners!!!

CFC; emblematic of success and under a great man whose desire for us to do well is palpable, I hope to look forward to more of it.

    HH to ALL!
