I’ve enjoyed the day, we just won our Rebel Treble.

Wow. History has been made, by our team, our Club.

    Again!

    …………………………

    WELL SAID that Man !

IF Celtic had lost either ONE or BOTH of the games against Hibs and Hearts DAYS after Rodgers had done a B1…There are some on here who would STILL have blamed Neil Lennon, DESPITE him only having hours and a few days to try and organise and maybe even Unite the Squad, and I use the word “Unite” deliberately, because on the Balance of Probablities, some of the Celtic squad may have been completely shocked and in danger of losing any focus when Rodgers did his “Peter Brady” impersonation largely due to some of them being in the Rodgers fan Club….I USED to be in the Rodgers Fan club until his Team selection and Tactics at Ipox on Dec 29th 2018, and his COMPLETE FAILURE to Call out The Blatant thuggery and a so called Ref named Beaton following that debacle.

Rodgers FAILURES THAT Day were all due to him working his OWN Agenda.

IF that had been Neil Lennon’s Celtic THAT Day at Ipox, some on here would have wanted neil hung, drawn and quartered, and i would have been hard pushed to defend him….but it wasnt Neil Lennon….it was Rodgers who betrayed the Celtic Players and the Celtic support that Day, and I for one will never forgive him, especially with what followed next and his Peter Brady Act.

If you dont wish to support our Manager, thats absolutely fine…just dont try and act like Mystic feckin Meg because NONE of us knows what the future really holds.

  2. If any on here are giving up their Season Books…there are thousands who will gladly take your Place…no one is FORCING You to watch Celtic !

    You will not be missed.

if I see a Movie that I dont like….I try and NOT watch it again…Simples !

  3. “You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land.

There is no other land; there is no other life but this.”

    ― Henry David Thoreau

  4. And with that it’s a good night from me.

I will watch the game tomorrow.

    The good

    The bad

    And

    The glorious.

  5. H…oops…I meant to add…well done Jonny Hayes…My Man of the Match.

He covered in defence and attacked whenever possible…he covered every blade of grass at Humpdump.

I know Im probably not alone, but yesterday morning I Posted that there are surely only TWO possible scorelines….5-2 ( May 25th and/or 52 Years anniversary) at 80/1 with Bet365…?

    OR….Celtic to win 2 – 1 @ 8/1 with Bet365.. ? Ya Dancer !

    I also had Celtic ” Draw – Half time – Celtic – Full Time” @ 11/4…Ya Dancer !

I do wonder IF any of those who were/are SO UNHAPPY with Neil Lennon…. were ALSO more than Happy to pick up winnings from a Bookie…?

    ……..

    Superb Post….

Sadly many ( including so many so called Celtic fans on here), like to ignore the Cheating by Hertz and Wullie Collum, and couldnt wait to stick the knife into Celtic and Neil Lennon.

I gave Jonny Hayes my Man of the match, but our Captain Scott Brown was also immense, considering that Big Tam didnt have a good game, and Calmac was also a bit quiet…..and our Skipper was left at times to do it mostly on his own in Midfield.

Tam Rogic was constantly being Manhandled etc.

I was on The Saltmarket for about 45 minutes waiting for the Celtic Bus, but I gave up and went back into the Pub…Was the Bus Re Routed by the Cops ?

wtf just happened? Hasn’t sunk in. Great day and a good game, nerve-wracking til Lustig’s header assist and OE !!!!!!!

Lenny came in and did it and on a higher win ratio than BR. Unbelievable day.

  9. In the last few Days on here its been stated by some that Hun fans WANT Neil Lennon to get the Managers Job ?

Maybe some of that Scum do…but there is an alternative view….That Hun Scum are shit scared that Neil Lennon will be the Bhoy to deliver 9 and 10 in a Row…THAT is their worst nightmare !

After the game yesterday, I came across a few ( very few) huns who drink in one of my local Pubs, these Chumps have NEVER spoken to Me about Fitba, Celtic etc…and Two of them attempted to Moan about the thousands of Celtic fans who were on the street celebrating, and that ALL the Celtic fans were feckin drunk and Pishing in the street etc……………I quickly shot these Two down…by reminding them of the Klan scenes and Pissing in the streets whenever there is a “Walk” by that orange Scum….One actually said that ” This Celtic bus parade shouldnt be allowed, as its never happened in Glasgow before” ?

I asked him about the Open top Parade this time last year…He had no answer obviously…

I asked the Two of them…why is it that Bus Parades are allowed ALL over Britain, Edinburgh, Manchester, London etc etc…but when it comes to Glasgow and Celtic…it shouldnt be allowed ?

Again, the Two of them didnt have any answers for fear of sounding like Bigoted huns……. at that I just laughed at them, with the steam coming oot of their ears !

  10. Anyone else getting malware warnings for this site?

Not surprisingly, Lenny gets the gig … Looking at the quality of player the Huns are signing .. I’m confident my aunty Agnes could lead us to 9iar..

It’s a moot point now, but how was the tackle from behind, straight through one of ours, not a yellow?

  12. A busy shift for trolls………. and beery belligerent barfly bullies…………..bad language ( one of very few rules in this Dear Green Place) the hallmark.

  13. I have a feeling that most of Scotland are scunnered at Celtic’s success and Sevco’s abject failures to stop us

  14. I am perfectly content with a treble treble and would rather go down the road of total commitment to winning the League next season rather than going for a Quadruple. Because of that, I would like us to give the likes of Dembele, Johnston,Henderson and others, starts in the League Cup. Basically, a League Cup side, a league side and a Champions League Qualifiers side. I am aware that this idea was muted by another Glagow side but I am suggesting it in the real world.

That may look like I have forgotten the Treble Treble already. Not so.I will have a happy, internal glow for quite some time yet.

    JJ

  15. Ron Bacardi,

    I have that feeling , too !

Not counting chickens but, having won the TT, if we now go on to win ten-in-a-row,I feel that `most of Scotland` willl have to find something else to feel scunnered about. :-))

    JJ

  16. “I’d like us to be a bit more on the front foot attacking-wise, not maybe use the goalkeeper as much. I know we use the sweeper keeper a lot these days, but build the team around my centre-forwards, as well”

    – Goodbye progressive football and let’s head back to the noughties. Up the wing, cross it in. U-shaped football galore. Hit the big man in the middle. What a leveller for next season. Here’s hoping we buy well as the players themselves won’t develop. Not his modus operandi. Screaming at them seems to be. What a sh*tshow…Damn you Lawell.

  17. My friends in Celtic,

The level of Celtic support just amazes me. Pubs all over the world , just wow and the scenes from Glasgow, just incredible.

Did Police Scotland not anticipate the crowds? Are Celtic fans harder to police than say Manchester City’s.?

Anyway still euphoric, but can’t believe Celtic would cynically announce our new manager at this very time.

Let’s be clear, like most others on here and beyond NFL will get my full support as the new Celtic manager.

However there are questions that must be asked.

Peter Lawwell does not normally make ” kneejerk ” decisions, but that’s exactly how this looks.

An appointment based on sentiment with no real substance. Why is NFL the best candidate for the biggest, most modern and progressive club in Scotland?

Mr Lawwell stated he had not even spoken to any other candidates. Wow, just wow. Is that not a basic dereliction of his duties ?

Finally the players are delighted that Lenny has the job; I’m sorry I don’t want a players pal for the top gig. I want a manager to maintain ( or increase ) our professionalism and to take us to the next level.

I really hope NFL does exceptionally well and I thank him for what he has done for us, but I would be extremely interested in knowing those names who expressed an interest in the job.

As a nominally Peter Lawwell supporter, I feel this can be a defining moment in his tenture.

I did not intend to post until tomorrow on this subject as I thought all at Celtic were euphoric, however Celtic’s Illjudged timing has prompted me to express my frustration.

HH to all, the journey is over and a new route is planned.

  18. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

Yesterday is history, time to get right behind NFL, he wouldn’t have been

my choice and I sense I’m not alone but he’s been offered the job and will

take it, he needs proper backing from PL,the squad needs freshened up,

3 or 4 quality signings no projects please.

    JerrymaguireCSC.

  19. Continuing on from Mea Culpa’s post regarding Collum yesterday.

It would be interesting to know how many free kicks we were awarded in our own half versus in the attacking half. Same for Hearts.

Seemed to me that Collum looked to ‘play the advatgage’, when there was very little, rather than giving us a free kick. And happily gave us free kicks in our half to ensure the total free kick count wasn’t skewed in Hearts favour.

Stern talking to for at least three of the Hearts players.

Bain got booked for taking no more time over a goal kick than the Hearts keeper took over every one.

  20. At the start of next season,

    1) Will we have a better manager than Sevco?

    2) Will we have better players than Sevco?

I’m saying the answer to number 1 is yes. A proven winner with a lot of experience versus a manager in his second year.

I’m expecting the answer to number 2 to be yes.

And I’m only using Sevoc as the gauge because they were second in the league this season.

So logically we should win the league. Can we just do so whilst playing with a lot of style? That’s my worry.

‘Mr Lawwell stated he had not even spoken to any other candidates.’

    ***

Probably because initial contact with potential candidates (or their representatives) is made via a third party and only once wages, transfer budget and player budget are sorted out does the recruitment process step up a gear to a face to face meeting.

Or possibly because The great Desmondo did any face to face meetings.

The harsh reality is that Celtic, playing in Scotland, just isn’t an attractive proposition to the sort of managers people are dreaming about.

  22. SuperSutton

Yes in theory fella but the margin for turgid, boring football will make it slim. Fewer last minute winners (I expect our focus on fitness and players health to diminish from Rodgers’ tenure), an over emphasis on players past their prime (building team around Brown) and a reliance on honest pros (Hayes) to cause us undue problems.

    All self-inflicted.

    Did something change ?

Our people in the ” know” on here categorically stated NFL would not be getting the job.

Until we know the calibre of those who expressed an interest in the job, we cannot realistically say our managers job was not attractive or indeed lucrative.

    HH to you.

  25. Greenpinata on 26th May 2019 10:30 am

The simplest explanation is that ‘the people in the know’, weren’t.

Why entrust confidential information to someone who is going to post it on the internet?

  26. That was a long season and I’m glad it’s over and ended in wonderful fashion.

We played more than 60 competitive club matches, plus internationals for most and add in pre season friendlies. A helluva lot of football in one period.

We had more than our fair share of injuries to key players and many of them were out for lengthy periods.

We looked like we were running on empty for a wee while towards the seasons end and I can see why that was.

We need a rest now. A decent holiday followed by a good pre season.

Oh and I’d tell Stevie Clarke to stick his June internationals up his arse.

  27. Lennon secured the league and scottish cup with BR’s team. the team were playing poorly prior to Lennon coming in. We got over the line and history was made. Great, buzzing enjoy every moment.

I am 100% behind lennon as he is our manager. Lennon will look to change the stlye of play. We will be more direct and will be more aggressive under lennon, We will tighten up the middle of the pitch and we wont lose many battles.

No matter the manager, we will still need a rightback, centreback and centreforward. lennon will want more legs in the middle of the pitch so a new centremid may also be needed.
