  1. the long wait is over on

As others have said Callum Motm today.

I thought he was sensational – as good as I’ve ever seen him imho.

His first touch, vision and composure are incredible.

Reminds me of the Maestro – and I can give him no higher praise. His teammates know they can fire the ball to him in any position at any speed and he’ll kill it and use it productively.

I mean – how did he get out of that situation in the second half with four diets round him trying to “decapitate” ( (c) Robbie Nielsen) him ?

Not sure many players since Paul have been better at that than Callum – Henrik, Paul Lambert maybe?

    We’re lucky to have him.

For all the plaudits he gets I still think he’s underrated.

that ange interview where he is choking up, i am telling yeese he is here for as long as he wants to be, forever even, what a man, what an interview.

    Good evening, friends.

Whilst celebrating is clearly the priority please do remember to vote as only 7 (SEVEN) emails have reached me so far. Ho hum….

    Congratulations to the Champions!

What a couple of seasons, Ange ball really is great to watch, a team/squad/club of winners!

Double sir? No make mine a treble!

    Hail, hail!

Thankyou celtic, another great season already, make it 3 trophys and we will all be delighted. During interview today Ange said (paraphrasing) we are not there yet, we are gonna and need to get better, this is a young team. Leading up to the game he said the core is there but pointed out we will sign a couple of players in the summer. One of Ange’s best attributes is he is honest with himself. He does not look for excuses for our weaknesses he simply identifies and looks to improve.

The game today highlighted why the team needs to improve. The high press causes us problems at times. We need to get better at moving the ball out from the back (i.e. getting beyond the line of the press by stepping into play or passing through it. We don’t appear to have a long pass but that is vital armory we need against better teams.

My wish list for the summer: move on all fringe players not likely to get game time. These is about 12 on that list.

Find good loans for our academy players who are to good for the b team but not good enough for the first team.

    purchase:

a Ball playing centreback who can beat the high press by passing and running through the lines (ajer was very good at this).

Technically good leftback who is pacey, physically imposing and can beat the press.

Technically good box to box centre midfielder who is pacey, physically imposing and break between the lines akin to hatate. Needs to be comfortable on the ball in deep lying areas of the pitch.

A right winger who is pacey, physically imposing and can beat a man with pace or skill.

Would be amazed if we needed to spend more than we recieve for transfer fees this window, particularly if KT and frinpong add ons come into play.

  6. I was going to suggest this morning that, as the title was effectively won, that we might begin to see decisions go our way even if only to show that things even themselves out.

I am not talking so much about the ref applying the rules today, I am referring to Sportscene actually offering the view that it was, indeed, a Red Card.

The Huns could, of course , have received two reds but let`s not get too carried away :-))

  7. Oh when the Celts , oh when the Celts , oh when the Celts go marching in … well, you know the rest LOL

    Well done Celtic

HOT SMOKED on 7TH MAY 2023 8:26 PM

I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said but once again we’ve proved that no matter how hard they try to deny us we rise above it all.

One of life’s truly sweet pleasures.

  10. “THE LONG WAIT IS OVER on 7TH MAY 2023 8:15 PM

For all the plaudits he (Calmac) gets I still think he’s underrated.”

I couldn`t agree more. He would not look out of place playing in the best teams in Europe .

When we played Real, I felt ( and might have said so on here ) that he wasn`t outclassed by Luka Modric.

  11. THE LONG WAIT IS OVER on 7TH MAY 2023 8:33 PM

….and I agree with you (!) but it still rankles that we have to rise above Scottish Officialdom and the MSSM

japanese team won the asia champions league – again

do we need any more ?

  13. Is it to our advantage that ICT do not have another game until the Cup Final itself?

Do we rest important players for , say, two of the games between now and the Cup Final?

Good decisions to have to make but let me be guided by Corkcelt`s earlier comment along the lines of enjoying the day.

  14. Many, Many Congratulations to The Famous Glasgow Celtic – or Celtic Glasgow, as our trendies chant merrily and which I love too.

Been laid low this past fortnight with the dreaded COVID. Last in the family to get it and everyone else has had it at least twice. Only bright side has been the success of our brilliant football club and the joy of our support. Oh, and the tweets and posts from BRRB which have been braw. Thanks, and I shall get back to replying and/or acknowledging them now that I’m back in the land of the living..

Hail Hail To One and All
