Helsinki to heaven

684

So how many of us checked the fixture schedule a month or so back and thought, “We can win the league on the St Patrick’s Day weekend”?  Then came Motherwell and Ross County, now we will do well to win the league on the same date as Gordon Strachan’s team did in 2006. This seems to exercise Neil Lennon more than me.  I’ll take the win anytime, although where it’s won is far more important.

Having said that, anything other than a victory tomorrow would be a sign of something gone wrong.  Aberdeen have been wretched in recent months and the Celtic players have benefited from a rare free midweek, allowing rest and preparation.  They will also have more than sufficient feedback on last week’s capitulation to ensure muscles are itching to go.

This month’s edition of CQN Magazine has just launched, some have said the best yet!  We take you from Helsinki to heave, these have been special times for Celtic and we know how to enjoy them……….

It’s written by the CQN community, for the CQN community, and is absolutely free to read online (special thanks to those who voluntarily subscribed, the lights have been kept shining as a result).

You can read the Magazine by clicking on the double headed arrow at the bottom right of the graphic below.

I think Neil Lennon has fallen victim to the old saying, ” If you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans”.

He talked about tying the league up early, allowing him to send some players off on an early holiday, to be back early for qualifiers.

How bad must a journalist have to be to get unfrocked?

Deepest sympathy to the Kane family, for their loss.

Excellent! Keep up the good work! On a slightly related topic I like the contribution on Question Time, where a panel member suggested, that those with an empty room in Central London could accommodate MPs from outside London, with a knock-on saving from paying MPs housing costs, and a reduction in the debt level. Might be worth checking the size of properties allowed to MPs, and the number of rooms!

  12. NUJ upholds £1000 fine on David Leggat and says he’s not a “fit or proper person” to join the Union.

  14. Celtic Mac,

Most of the cabinet have a few spare houses, never mind empty rooms.

It was once suggested that they just buy a block of flats in London for all of the MPs to stay in. Apparently this was ruled out as too much of a security risk!

  15. Sammi’s Greek is perfect!

The universal benefit cap kicks in in a couple of weeks, and its’ impact will be most immediately felt in and around Central London. £500 max. It would be interesting to see if any MP from outside London, claims less than that in housing expenses alone.

  17. BSR,

But sure we only scored 9 coz they lay down to us coz Mark McGhee is a Tim!

We could be ‘unlucky’* tomorrow but feeling pretty confident** of a good performance and a few goals.

This positivity could be due to the fact that I have have a troublesome (mainly for the dentist) molar removed and am feeling a tad ‘light headed’ due to legal drugs.

*Unlucky could mean MIB chicanery (likely), the sheepies turning in their best performance of the year as a farewell to Brown (less likely)

** I reserve the right to be more pessimistic when the drugs have worn off and cannot be substituted for vino.

And if anyone needs to be cheered up by a ‘you are smashing post’ NOW, and I mean within the next half hour type now, is the time as I am taking requests.

But I may go* for a lie down

*98% chance this will become ‘will go’ or even ‘have gone’ shortly.

But don’t be disheartened, all the world problems and the meaning of life will solved (in my mind) during this lie down.
