HENDERSON IN DEMAND

FORMER Celtic midfielder Liam Henderson is a £2million target for Fiorentina, his Serie B club Bari have confirmed.

However, the Italian minnows have told the Florence outfit they are in no rush to sell with three other top-flight clubs interested in the ex-Scotland Under-21 playmaker who joined in January.

Bari have just sacked Head Coach Fabio Grosso and Sports Director Sean Sogliano said: “It’s true Fiorentina have made an offer for Liam Henderson.

“But matters like this aren’t to be rushed. We must evaluate all offers for him.

“Fiorentina weren’t the first club to show interest in Liam – Parma, Atalanta and Bologna have also enquired.

“Also, there is interest from him from foreign clubs, too.

“Our situation is very clear. We have financial problems and departures are inevitable.”

Henderson won a Scottish Cup medal while on loan at Hibs in their historic 3-2 triumph over Sevco Rangers three years ago.

Brendan Rodgers, with a surplus of players in the same position, thought it was only fair to allow the 22-year-old to get regular first team football elsewhere..
