JACK HENDRY is heading for League One side Sunderland on a six-month loan deal this month.

Celtic’s £1.3million signing from Dundee a year ago hasn’t made a first team appearance since featuring in the defeat to RB Salzburg in October.

The 23-year-old centre-half, who has played 25 games since his switch from Dens Park, is expected to lead an exodus of fringe players leaving on temporary deals this month.

Portsmouth and Bradford have also been linked with the player.

One-time German international Marvin Compper, who has made only  one appearance since his £1.3million move from RB Leipzig, will also be heading for the Parkhead exit and midfielder Scott Allan, too, will be leaving the champions with Hibs his expected next port of call.

Paris Saint-Germain’s teenage striker Timothy Weah is poised to sign a six-month loan deal at Parkhead and Atalanta’s Belgian  international right-back Timothy Castagne is still on Brendan Rodgers’ radar.

The Hoops will also begin negotiations for Ivory Coast Under-23 striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo although Slovakian club Dunajska Streda have knocked back an initial bid of £1.75million.

The frontman has netted 10 goals in 16 starts this season for his club.
