HENRY DROPPED FROM KAS EUPEN SQUAD TO FACE STANDARD LIEGE AS TRANSFER BECKONS

1

HENRY ONYEKURU, a £1million target for Celtic, has been axed from KAS Eupen’s league clash with Standard Liege tonight with doubts surrounding his future.

The Belgian side’s manager, Jordi Condom Auli, has dropped the 19-year-old Nigerian star striker from the starting line-up and claimed his mind wasn’t focused on the match.
As well as the Scottish champions, this season’s 10-goal frontman has also been linked with Bundesliga outfits RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim while Turkish giants Fenerbahce are showing an interest.
Boss Condom Auli said: “The transfer window confuses some players. I need guys who are 500 per cent involved in the project of the club.
“When you are under contract with a club, what matters is the team.”

Onyekuru was quoted last week saying the Hoops had made a bid to sign him.

However, the reported original offer of £1million was rejected and, subsequently, the club said he was not for sale.

However, the situation may have changed with the teenager’s state of mind with Celtic preparing a second, improved bid for the player.
Developing story.
