MARTIN O’NEILL singled out Benjamin Nygren as he said his farewells to the Celtic players following the 1-0 win over Dundee at Parkhead on Wednesday December 3.
The Irishman believed his interim period was over with a seventh victory during his eight-game stay following the exit of Brendan Rodgers at the end of October.
O’Neill pointed to Nygren and, as reported in CQN, said: “Young man, I love the Swedes. You be one of the top Swedes, please.
“Borg’s my favourite hero, Abba are a fantastic group and Henrik Larsson is just sensational.
“Okay, you be Number Four.”
Nygren is now standing by to impress O’Neill again following the extraordinary second comeback of the 73-year-old gaffer after the sacking of Wilfried Nancy.

The former Hoops gaffer once more stepped up when the club needed him most after the Frenchman’s disastrous 33 days in which the club lost six of his eight games.
Nygren, who is hoping to get the nod to face Dundee United at Parkhead tomorrow afternoon, welcomed back O’Neill and, speaking to Celtic TV, said: “Martin has been here before and knows the club very well.
“He knows the standards here, he’s a massive legend and has a good relationship with the fans and the club. He understands what it means to be here and what everyone demands.
“We had him not long ago, so, as players, we just try to get into it as fast as possible. Training has been good with strong intensity, so I feel good.
“He’s loved by everyone at the club, players and fans. It’s nice to have him back.”
