Mikey still did more in the time he was on than Palma, some very positive stuff mixed in with some guff. Sometimes a fresher player is better even if he’s not as good.

More stick for Ralston , came on did nothing wrong set up O’Riley who should have done much better. Mikey tried hard but he’s not really good enough. Forrest nearly scored and Oh isn’t a forward that I would want going forward. If you want to hurl bricks, the manager must take some of the heat. Playing the same team after Wednesday was a mistake .
I think bringing on 4 offensive subs and changing your entire front line, with one not having played fir us fir a year is asking a lot.
3 guys desperate to do well with not much game time under their belts isn’t likely to end well
In all honesty, it was quite a boring game.
For all the criticisms the subs are getting, the starting 11 did not set a high bar today. The only time we showed urgency and forced some saves and blocks was in the last 10 minutes. I would criticise Calmac (first time this season I have done so) for not increasing the urgency earlier and being too complacent that a breakthrough would come.
Every sub came on and started badly, very badly in some cases. But, at least they persevered and James Forrest made some breakthroughs. So, to a much lesser extent, did Mikey, but even though we were more urgent we lacked control and both starting and finishing 11s drew a blank.
This team has done well for us but today they were well off it against a well coached but unthreatening Hibs.
I will be giving my 3 votes in Jobo’s MOTM to O’Riley (our most creative player in the first half), CCV (mopped up a few breakaways) and James Forrest (created a couple of chances and hit the bar).
It’s a bit hard on Kyogo to miss out as he made a lot of good runs but, since nobody gave him the ball, we’ll never know how good his performance was.

Team selection today was the main issue after midweek efforts. Use the squad from the start.

looks like the manager to me was making a statement that he doesn’t rate a lot of the fringe players and that he would rather play others based on his previous stint.

We had a mentality and physically draining game a few days ago.
To expect the same performance from the same players was a very hard ask.
If we cannot utilise our massive squad in these circumstances, then when ?
This game was crying out to start players like Oh Iwata Holm et al.
This is not sour grapes or hindsight, I’m relatively happy with a point but come January there must be pragmatic squad decisions .

The thought of a significant injury to Kyogo is enough to keep you up at night. I’ve no worries about the league though and today doesn’t change that.
Long term though. I’ve real concerns about the players from Ange’s first 2 windows being moved on. Our hit rate since those windows is worrying.

In spite of having nearly three times as much posession as Hibs, we managed to be punished for nearly three times as many `fouls`.

7 subs in the 2nd half and player down with cramp, 2 yellow cards and other stoppages, yet only 3 mins added , questions should be asked , oh wait we don’t question anything.

It OBVIOUSLY was not “a good point” against a very poor team
that was beaten 4-0 last weekend by our atrocious neighbours.
Team selection was poor given midweek efforts against AM.

Any team that ships 4 to the huns should have been put to the sword, no excuses.
Manager should never have started the same team as midweek and although Forest and Johnston did ok when they came on they are way off what our standard should be.
Bad day at the office…and anyone suggesting that the Jambos will do anything other than get pumped tomorrow is seriously deluded.

Forest has been a fantastic servant and deserves to go down in Celtic history but his time is up.
Mikey Johnston…….looks like he is still the same player as when he left us although to be fair to him he at least tried to get forward and create something.
The suggestion that the manager was trying to prove a point…haven’t we been down that road the last time he was in the hot seat?
He took the job, if he’s not happy I have no doubt he will do exactly as he did the last time…..
He huns will drop nothing tomorrow, if I was a hertz fan after listening to Andy Halliday I would go tonto.

I genuinely wouldn’t trust Mark Lawell with our large cash balance. If we’re going to spend relatively big money, I’d want a new head of recruitment making those decisions.
Mark Lawwell obviously will not get his jotters but hopefully we can get someone competent in to ‘assist’ him while he’s put in charge of the stationery cupboard.
