  1. Are peeps for real, regards Mikey Johnston? he is utter dross, yesterdays man, same as Forrest, Ralston, Turnbull. We had about 10 transfer windows since thes guys last showed promised (2 a season). We need replacements badly.

    Anyway still undeafeated in league.

    We move forward.

    D :)

good point earned away today. Well done bhoys

    —————

    Exactly!

Unbelievably tough game midweek. A point away to one of the leagues form teams is a good result.

    ———————–

Well, today’s “result” against your “form team” who got hammered

4-0 by the useless Govan lot leaves a lot to discuss :)))

Bad day at the office and very poor decision making.

  3. No Iwata ,no Yang etc. Maybe Rodgers doesn’t want to be told it’s Ange signings that helped you win the league.

    The EGO has landed 🤷‍♂️

  4. “By the time we started to play with the tempo we like, it was too late. Our idea is to make a quick start. We gave it away a few times needlessly, playing long passes when we didn’t have to. We didn’t play with enough speed.

The last 20, 25 minutes we did and you saw the difference that made. But by that stage we couldn’t make the breakthrough.”

  5. Brendan making a statement the the doesn’t rate the signings ……FFS. What a lot of garbage.

He put Tomoki on last Sunday and so he obviously was deliberately trying to lose today.

Yes he was so keen to break up a successful defense by putting in a CB jist back from injury instead of scales.

And of course Barnardo and Palma were really signed 2 years ago and not actually this summer as that spoils the story.

Some folk really do risk their bitterness, against a club they claim to support, eating them up.

Of course it was sub standard today but ffs.

I’d leave Jamsie out of that list IMHO

“Adrenaline is still pumping from Wednesday night and legs will still be restoring energy levels after being depleted well before the end of the Atletico game. Players are not machines, they cannot switch it on just because they want to. Brendan Rodgers abilities will be called on today and before kick-off to make sure the performance is high enough.”

Some of the comments below it don’t necessarily show some of the more self-assured critical posters in the best light.

  8. 4 points dropped from a possible 40.

no defeats in 10 league games.

i am wracking my brain trying to think of a better start to a league campaign.

    and yet still some moan.

  9. I was lucky enough to be in Ellis Park in 1995 when Nelson Mandela handed the trophy to his Rainbow Nation team which had one black player in it.

It was an incredible occasion. Joel Stransky scored the winning drop goal in extra time. I flew out there wanting the amazing All Blacks (for many the best ever) but by half time I could feel what this meant to so many. What a night. Partying for and with white and blacks alike. I flew home wondering … what the future held for the black people who celebrated so much and for the whites whose world order was changing.

18 years later my son played out there for a winter. I visited and was curious to see it first hand. Sadly it didn’t seem much had changed for many. Only a few privileged and fortunate ones had escaped the economic inevitability.

Yes there are almost half a team of black players now. Sadly there is along way for their country to go. Mind you when we see what is happening in Palestine today and the responses of the UK government and the USA in am not sure we are really much better than them.

As for politics in or out of sport. That day in 95 suggests that it is perfectly ok if it is politics folk in power like. In fact they might even make a movie of it.

I hope tonight’s game is a cracker worthy of the occasion. I don’t mind who wins this time.

  10. 4 from 30, fat fingers and no glasses on.

still when have we equalled this at the start of a season ?

  11. to find a season start better than this i had to go way way back to last season –

9 wins 1 defeat at st morren, incredbly though 35 goals including the 4-0 hunsskelping

    Mr No All

What does Johnson Turnbull Ralston and now ,after great sevice Forrest ,give us .?

  13. To finish the game with Ralston, Turnbull, Johnson, Forrest not great, but given the fixture schedule, we are doing fine,Wednesday was a hard shift

  14. Fanadpatriot

Ralston had just over an hour today. His first minutes since he contributed while Johnston was out earlier. For me the jury is out as to whether he works as well in BR system as Ange felt he did for him.

Johnston has never been one I was convinced of. I am assuming Brendan’s endorsing comments as to his potential and ability are more likely to be more accurate than those in a position of relative ignorance on a blog.

Turnbull scored a few earlier in the season and I recall played a key part in establishing our initial 4 point lead early on in the season. The fact he has not had a contract suggests the jury is out there.

For today he has perhaps shown well in training and has experience in this type of scenario which Iwata and Holm perhaps don’t. Hence why he was preferred. Only 6 weeks ago folk were raving about Holm and only last week Iwata.

  15. Out of the 9 signings we made in the summer , 1 started today.

We then brought on Ralston, Turnbull, Forrest and Johnston.

Where were the other 8 , sitting in the stand .

    Along with Bernabei and Kobayashi

  16. St Tams

It’s not exactly subtle from the boss. But is he saying he had no part in bringing in these players? What did he take the job for? I asked MON recently and he gave me a very unconvincing answer.

  17. how Ralston, Turnbull, Forrest and Johnston are still getting a game just shows how short of quality we have in our squad

    _______

Fourstone – Jamsie has been a great servant and actualy did well today but we should have better than him.

A lot of transfer windows under our nelt since his best days and we still go back to him.

Its our recruitment I am getting at.

    HH

We will bounce back we gained a point away.

    D :)

  19. Actually thought James Forrest did well when he came on today.

Actually tried to create something, whereas, Maeda just played the ball back all the time.

  20. After the monumental effort by Every Celt on Wednesday, it was always likely to see a lacklustre performance seen Today.

The last 20 minutes performance deserved a goal but it wisnae to be.

St Mirren are doing very well, so hopefully they will have a go, I really doubt they will.

Celtic over 4.5 goals is on.

    —————

Maybe have a read at what I posted earlier before spouting your entitled garbage and slating players like Mikey Johnston who haven’t had a proper crack at the first team yet.

    Jeezo!

Here is the run of away games we’ve had and the results:

From my account, we’ve now played 6 away and 4 at home.

Although, our away games have been at: Aberdeen (3-1 win), Livingston (3-0 Win), Sevco (1-0 Win), Motherwell (2-1 win), Hearts (4-1 win) and Hibs (0-0 Draw).

I’d take the run again for the next round against this lot.

Let’s see how Sevco do in those same games this next round of fixtures.

Some people need to get a grip.

how Ralston, Turnbull, Forrest and Johnston are still getting a game just shows how short of quality we have in our squad

    —————

As has been stated on here a load of times, 2 are club trained players and the other 2 are trained in Scotland, which we require for our European squad. Rather than just filling it with random club trained youngsters.

Also, I’ll trust Brendan’s judgement before posters on here.

    😂😂😂

  23. I’m still struggling to understand if our squad is so bad, how, in Brendan’s words we played so much better when the no hopers came on.

That’s not how he described them but you get the idea

  24. spouting your entitled garbage

    ……………………………………………

Mindless garbage. Getting “a grip” is something that should be considered.
