  1. Phil (yeah, I know – pinch of salt) suggested that Celtic enquired about two “England based managers”. Any idea who they were and why they’re not in Lennon’s job?

  2. GEEBEE1978

That suggests the board are aware action needs to be taken soon.

MON wasn’t first choice and look how that turned out.

  3. CORKCELT on 21ST NOVEMBER 2020 7:35 PM

Well said.Particularly the point regarding our signings not coming up to scratch.

Until SB had a brain storm,I thought we were playing well and it was only a matter of time.

I paid for the Hibs TV so any reruns favouring Celtic were not shown, I’m sure however Murphy was well inside the box when penalty taken, thus getting to rebound ahead of Biton.

I have yet to see a name proposed to replace NL despite all the shouting.

Sooner we get Europe out the road the better,so we can consolidate.

  4. The Huddle, When you say we became obsessed with winning Cups who are you talking about.

If it’s Supporters then so what, we don’t win or lose games, this season we can’t even attend a game.

If it’s the Players you are talking about, what evidence have you that they are prioritizing Cups over the League,

  5. lets all do the huddle on

Ajeti, please someone agree with me, poor poor signing,

i will definitely agree with that

dont see anything in him at all

but will caveat that by wondering if he would be much better if we played griff up front with him

but then i would rather have eddy and griff if we are going to play 2 up front

    so a waste of cash

it is pretty incredible how neil is still in his job

Do we need to propose a new manager, or do we, err, advertise the post?

Maybe PL could just hang around the showers of Glasgow asking people? Could save a fortune in recruitment fees.

  7. This is the run before the hun game – dead EL rubbers, a cup final and a pretty easy set of home league games.

A decent context for a new guy to get a dead cat bounce surely?

Maybe some of us aren’t too different from the Huns

  9. If the dons do anything to the league leaders tomorrow, it may buy lennie some time. lennie has had injury , covid injuries, wevertf is going on with griff, an aged broonie who’s body hasn’t benefitted from the lockdown and a sudden influx of ‘quality’ to deal with. It’s not working out for us.

I am struggling to see where the capacity for improvement is. I didn’t see the match today – I presume we had some fight in us to come back from 2 nil down. I’d hoped recently that ‘backs to the wall’ fight might be enough to get us back to having a foot front game plan. Obviously not.

I know f all about running a football club, managing a team. I think we’re screwed because we’ve given the hun machine a chance.

  10. GEEBEE/PHILBHOY

how would you react if it was out there that your bosses where sniffing around for a replacement

    ———–

Two separate and not linked issues.

Fans are only interested in wining the next cup and not seeing the bigger picture (i.e. we should’ve replaced Brown 3-4 years ago, forward planning). Weren’t the alarms bells ringing last season, for you as fan, that there were problems at Celtic? For me they were ringing 3 years ago.

The players, i’m sure the majority of them don’t care about the legacy, more about the pay packet and their next bigger move.

The club as a whole, I feel, became complacent. We win, so we must be good. They don’t appear to ever thought that we won, but we aren’t very good.

  12. RC

The waste of cash on players in the last few years is criminal in my opinion.

    £3.5 million for Turnbull.

    Why?

We chased this guy for a year, finally signed him, and his arse has hardly been off the bench ALL SEASON.

How many starts has he had?

If he is worse than those who are keeping him out of the team he might as well chuck it.

    Or go back to Motherwell

I had my own business for years and profligacy could not be tolerated or afforded.

Why is it not a problem with a big company like Celtic plc?

  13. still annoyed at our captain being the tuff guy and trying to save face other than thinking of the team all because he didn’t like someone brushing against him.

  14. FAIRHILL BHOY

I believe NFL knows as the manager of Celtic he is going, like the team, backwards.

He knows his jacket is on the proverbial.

Did he not say after the match today that this was the case?

  15. All being well we still have 25 league fixtures left and some here have the zombies as champions-elect already.

I wonder if there is any connection in the Malky MacKay leaving Scotland story

This is what happened with NL at Hibs – he left Hibs a couple weeks later joined us

I didnt even know that Malky was the SFA performance director until he resigned, did he improve things?

He had an interesting end at Cardiff, doubt we’d be that stupid

  20. why question weren’t asked about our recruitment policy on the number of players we have spent millions on only for someone at Lennoxtown to not fancy them at training or for them to hardly ever get a game or two , now that’s criminal.

  21. FAIRHILL BHOY on 21ST NOVEMBER 2020 8:05 PM

Well, that was going to be my next point. Players who don’t want to be there (according to the man who knows them best) and a manager who knows he could be on the way out…

And people are surprised there’s a malaise around the team and the bench.

If something’s going to happen, it needs to happen now.

  22. I think the top two in the SPFL enter the qualifying stages for Champions league next season. Our main danger is finishing third this season. And before everyone tells me that can’t happen, it did for the Lisbon Lions.

You may not know but we are 8 points behind with one game in hand

We are trying to win 10 in a row but the Huns are trying to stop us and between them playing well and us not there is a bit of a to do

  26. PHILBHOY on 21ST NOVEMBER 2020 7:58 PM

Point I was trying to make was that a person coming in would require time to assess current staff etc.

before implementing the changes mostly everyone wants, and that takes time, which we dont have.

I’m reading Ross and Collins but cannot see that as Ross is relatively inexperienced and I think Collins is interested in the McKay position. File under speculation.

Bottom line if he is truly interested then DD will make the call,he still has the hots for Keane so a 1 Season appointment then a more permanent fix could be the solution to steady the ship.

What happened to this place ?

i think a lot of us are using the evidence of our own eyes to make a judgement on our performances, strengths, weaknesses etc

as i mentioned earlier – our team has many issues all over the pitch and in the dug out

since the very start of the season

its nothing a quick fix can sort

but added to that, we arent top of the league. and the team that are top of the league arent even conceding goals against other teams in the league let alone conceding points, so how can we get them to drop points?

so if you put all that in the mix – can you give me a convincing arguement that we will win the league this season?

and if you can, and have a genuine quick solution to our many issues, then i would give you the managers job right now

Yes we have plenty of games left but with the present manager will we actually win that many?

  30. Another must win game became a draw that didn’t feel anything other than like, points lost.

3 goals down to Kilmarnock pulled back to 3-3 turned Neil Lennon’s fortunes before, but 2 – 0 against Hibs to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat, didn’t alter Celtic’s season from hell, one iota, where devine right wins are thin on the ground. Neil picked the in form players, and the bench again looked like Fort Knox, but it didn’t matter to Hibs who have a plan.

They sat in at home with their feet up for the first forty five, while Celtic did the usual dance but virtually never laid a glove on Marciano. Predictably with a blank scoresheet secured Hibs hit the imaginary slope for the opening of the second and it wasn’t too long before Scott Brown made Bobby Madden’s day with a typically petulant barge with the striker going nowhere on the corner of the box other than down.

Jeremie Frimpong only has torrid days at the heart of the Celtic defence today, was no different but with Shane Duffy again ‘rested’ © Paul67, he contrived with Celtic’s best midfielder or is it Centre Back Nir Bitton to let Hibs extend their lead with a good finish and give the home side a 2-0 lead just like Sevco. The ‘fightback’ that never at anytime looked on, was on and Eddy scored a shock penalty, then Neil Lennon’s only good value deadline day Diego Laxalt scored to level the game.

Some Celtic supporters are bound to be losing interest forget Europe if they lose another league game in the next sequence before Poundland, they’ll be a memory.

At a guess I think Neil went with the team that won 1-4 away at Motherwell in our last game …

Me … I would have Edouard & Griff up front against every team in Scotland but sadly I can’t pick the team … and al pretty sure Neil will still deliver … pretty sure on my mind = 100%
