I had the misfortune of attending a Chelsea game years ago before the Abramovich money came in. Nasty club who always identified with Oldco and were signing anti-Irish songs even though they weren’t playing an Irish-supported club (they were playing Everton if my memory serves).
Trust me, this club has no love for us and I for them. I hope they lose against everyone they play (unless they draw Oldco in the CL).

Yes, I agree.
I was previously of the view that B Rodgers had done the dirty on us. Over the past 2 years I’ve revised that view to we were probably lucky he stuck around as long as he did given the interference from Lawwell.

Yes, a lot of Irish seem get caught up in the Greatestleagueintheworld. They read supposedly Irish versions of English tabloids full of it.
As a matter of interest and not as a criticism. Before lockdown, did the Bhoy go and actually watch Chelsea on occasion, or does he call himself a fan purely because he likes to see them win? My experience of many Irish people over the years is that they pick a team to what I would say follow, as opposed to support.
Same kind of idea as Europeans pick an NFL team.
Personally speaking, Chelsea strike me very much as the closest England has to Huns.
Racist to their own staff and fans still proud of it.
Each to their own.

Just read the Shortbread article and pictures on their website, low and behold who gets drawn into it, comparing it to Liverpool fans in their thousands and the obligatory mention of a few hundred at Celtic park (though no mention of how those were policed.
Wouldn’t let BBC Scotland on the premises never I do access to anyone,

Never forget that our Business Department believe that the carnage in central Glasgow and elsewhere today is an acceptable price to pay as the success of Newco is necessary to keep them alive and therefore good for Celtic PLC business.
Point the finger at politicians and police all you like, and rightly so.
First and foremost however, this is on Desmond and Lawwell.
Yes of course. Meaningful change, learning from experience, no one is allowed to reference season 2020/2021 in conversation ever again. If it means I’m unable to think about it as well count me in

Few of us today can envisage the poverty endured by men like Jimmy McGrory in their childhood. The poor boy from the Garngad who made Hampden roar
