  1. Too much scope today for the MIBs to influence the result, and boy did they grab it with both hands.

  2. We’re always going to get days like this.

    Cmon Celtic.

Worst case scenario we are 10 clear.

  3. Well done Hibs , Celtic not at the races,Rodgers making changes afraid backfired on him,and please don’t blame the officials ,as I have said before when opposition teams come on to Celtic in all reality at times we can’t handle it ,finally why didn’t Rodgers put Kenny on,no wonder some young bhoys in the development team don’t hang about up in Lennoxtown

  4. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Huge effort on Tuesday clearly took its toll.

We were just off it a wee bit and it didn’t click.

    A one off.

Collective responsibility of course but I’m disappointed with the contribution of those who did not start midweek.

Taylor, McCowan and Idah all poor.

When Brendan talks of the squad strength … think of today.

We need different guys to step up and set the tone.

PS – I think we’ll murder them in the cup game.

    We’ll certainly be fired up.

    Onwards to Wednesday.

    Hail hail

    Keep The Faith

  5. When you’re not at your best you offer up the opportunity to let the officials influence the game. In rugby, once an onfield decision is made tv pictures need to be conclusive to overturn it, we certainly did not see conclusive pictures to overturn the original decision, unless of course VAR have pictures we didn’t see, just to be clear they don’t

  6. just caught the last 10 mins

a few more yellow cards should have been dished out for timewasting

    shit happens tho

would rather lose this one to hibs than the cup

  7. dessybhoy on 22nd February 2025 2:43 pm

F..k Hibs and their shit support

    They fully deserved their win.

So, get a grip! Days like this happen.

  8. Anyone who thinks the league is won hasn’t been paying attention. That was woeful. If we can play that bad today, there’s no guarantee that we won’t repeat that performance again (and again). Games need to WON. You have to EARN the 3 points. You can’t just show up and play like that and expect to stroll the league.

Hibs have one of the worst CH’s in the league in that guy Rocky, yet we never troubled the Hibs back line.

For all that possession, we had one scrappy goal after 100+ mins of football. Woeful.

Can only hope it was the fatigue factor from Munich (for those players that ran their hearts out on Tuesday – not an excuse that the 3 subbed players can use).

  9. lets all do the huddle on

im going to guess that at some point they will release the VAR lines drawn by a drunk using a crayon?

  10. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Yep, the performance of those with fresh legs is more disappointing than the result.

  11. Clear and obvious mistake is the criteria by which VAR are to advise the referee of any error, there was no way that was a clear and obvious error. No camera angle showed clear daylight between ball and line, a centimetre on the line and the ball isn’t out of play. Goal was awarded by the officials on the field of play and it should have stood, Celtic should be asking for clear evidence as to why it was disallowed.

  12. onenightinlisbon on

    Got what we deserved.

Taylor has been a great servant but doesn’t want to be here – don’t play him.

Maeda a better striker than Idah….

Manager got the selection of the team wrong and it’s a sad reflection that today application beat skill easily.

League title? long way to go….

  13. onenightinlisbon on

    And as for the officials?

A hun referee and a hun on Var…..

Wonder if the ball from Johnston would have been deemed out if it had been the other way..

What do you base the decision on?

    —————–

checks league table, 13 points ahead with thems having 12 games to play.

do you think we will lose the league ?

  15. If it’s inconclusive, you have to go with on field decision

Why not send McLean to the screen?

    —————–

    Exactly

  17. Thought that was a good game. Hibs played well and we gave it a good shot eventually. The disallowed goal was VAR guessing, which should never happen. That call was for the onfield refs and they gave it. it will be interesting to hear the explanation from Willie Collum.

  18. Btw…I felt 90%!confident Maeda’s 2nd goal would stand. How can VAR be certain the whole ball was out? Expect BR to make reference to it (I hope so). And will await Collum’s comments.

Would also like to see Campbell’s yellow card tackle from all angles available. Studs looked up, and looked quite high. No word of a VAR check for a potential red card.

    Poor officiating yet again.

Some of our fans have the treble wrapped up already.

Think we need to tread carefully.

We are the best team in Scotland but more performances like today and we could be in trouble.

  20. the long wait is over on

CALL ME GERRY on 22ND FEBRUARY 2025 2:47 PM

Anyone who thinks the league is won hasn’t been paying attention.

    ————

Agree but at least we don’t have Europe to distract us now.

I expect us now to kick on in the run in.

Having said that , it is as well we have such a cushion , even after today.

Idah is not, for me, the answer up front. He didn’t look threatening once in 45 minutes and the best chance he had to influence the game – to play one of two players in – he fluffed. Too ponderous for me.

  21. lets all do the huddle on

was going to say it was just a bad day at the office…

but i think our players were working from home today!

  22. lynott67 on 22nd February 2025 2:44 pm

It’s been a bad week for us

    —————-

    how ?

we drew away from home in a european champions league tie against the bundeliga leaders.

we got confirmation of £38m for that participation.

we are 13 points clear in the league,

we are still in the scottish cup.

we lost only the 3rd league game in 14 months,

    a bad week ?

  23. Brendan call out the cheating mason on VAR. Alan Muir hates Celtic and this is the deciding factor in his factual decision to call that ball out.

  24. BJB @ 2:47

Disappointed yes…..we move on.St Mirren away next Saturday…..then Hibs Cup game at home.

Don’t forget we have Aberdeen on Tuesday.

  25. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Brendan plays it perfectly in post match interview.

    Calls out VAR inadequacies.

    Name checks Muir.

  26. onenightinlisbon on

Adam Idah is a very good player but is he good enough to be Celtic’s number one striker? Discuss…..

  27. Celtic were made to pay after a shocking 1st half display that was lack lustre from certain players to say the least.

Brendan made three changes at half time, but in truth he could have made 5 or 6 changes at that point.

I expected Greg Taylor to be subbed due to his yellow card in the 1st half, and Jeffrey Schlupp didnt let the team down in his solid 45 minutes in the 2nd half.

As for Adam Idah……sorry but he MUST LEARN to involve himself more in games as he totally drifts out of games.

Overall Hibs deserved their win, and it looked like the correct decision to disallow Daizens 2nd goal, as it looked as if the ball HAD went out of play on the by-line.

Its gonna be difficult to pick Three Celtic players for JOBO s POTY.

    A CRAP day all round.
