Comfortable first half without really reaching top gear. Not enough width given the formation we are playing in midfield and Sami having one of his frustrating, almost making it happen, days.
Plenty more in the tank for a couple of second half goals to seal this one.

Sammi showing why he shouldn’t have been selected for this game. Defence solid enough, the only way Hibs are going to score is through a lapse in concentration or an ‘Efe’ moment.
A bit Craig Levein-ish playing without a striker why not give Balde a shot?

Vert pleasantly surprised by Hibs first half approach. They’re trying to play football and have created some good chances against us. No rough house approach. Well done Butcher.
We’ve played some good football but the pitch is a bit sticky and we’ve seen Commons and Biton fall in good positions to score or create a chance. We’ve also been a bit careless. We are not dominating our penalty area and Hibs are creating a lot of chances from high crosses. We need to be more commanding in the air.
Let’s hope we score a couple in the second half and that it continues to be a good game.

On the penalty claim, granted there was minimal contact but Collins throws both arms up and swan dives past VVD.
No pen correct decision.
Sammi looked like he wanted it early on but slumped back into his frustrating self.
Efe’s distribution has to be watched too.
Like Biton with his no nonsense play but feel he has more than just second gear in him.
Ledley again started ok but apart from decent shot near the end there is taking it easy me thinks.
Ah well hoping to see new Norwegian and even Pukki get on and get the ball down to feet.
Amido to come on at 89 th minute again, hope not.

HT Hibs 0-1 Celtic
Decent game of football. Hibs did not fold after losing the early goal and have created some problems for us going forward. Fraser has had to make more saves in this 45 than he has had to make in the last 4 or 5 games combined. Collins up front is a handful for our defence although he has been very fortunate not to see at least a yellow card. Thought he dived for a penalty and then later could have badly injured Izzy sliding in after the ball had been cleared.
Things are not working too well for us up front. First 10 mins was good with Kris, Sammi and Broonie all showing well, but after that it was very disjointed. Sammi is way too static up front and when he does get possession everything slows down. Kris’ goal was yet another great finish. Showed a lot of composure in holding off a challenge and picking his spot to give the keeper no chance.
Would like to see the new Bhoy in midfield. Biton doing ok in the holding role, but Ledley and Charlie are not offering much going forward. Broonie is playing the furthest forward to accommodate the others in the team which is not his best position. Young Fisher again showing well.
Am I one of a few that would like to see the back of Sammi? slows the game down far too often and almost always pick the wrong option !! A big long haired unkempt diddy in all honesty! cheerio wouldn’t miss you !!

First 15 mins we played well and picked up lots of second ball. Next 30 mins Hibs were onto the loose ball quicker than us, and there are lots of loose balls from both sides. Pitch obviously a factor.
Difficult to pass and go with one or two touches.
Probably need to get ball forward quicker and punish their mistakes as we did for our goal.
Walker does my nut in. Anything Celtic do is down to a Hibs mistake. It would choke him to give us credit for anything.
Oh, and Hibs player should have been booked for diving at the so called ‘penalty’ incident.
Poor game…..Sami not interested.
Think we should put in a bid for the kid up front for Lierse…..,Cracking player.

I thought it was a penalty too.Van Dijk definitely catches his foot.He fell dramatically though and I think that’s why he didn’t give it.
