  1. Seriously I did think Virgil was a bit slacker than usual today. Bring back Joos Hooiveld!

  2. Not a great deal better 2nd half but wonder goals to light it up.Pukki played very well ,deserved his goal.Maybe being a bit harsh with the conditions being wild, but just thought the passing was a bit iffy, and careless sometimes.Lets get this record of clean sheets.

VVD is awsome. Not just his free kick, his whole game.

  3. Really enjoyed that.

We scored a wonderful free kick by an imperious Centre back.

We saw the long running Kris Commons Show provide us with some entertainment.

We saw a world class save from Fraser Forster.

And, to top it all, after a bad day in the Predictor yesterday, I got the result spot on for 10 points.

Now, I’ll read back and find out what we found to complain about today.

  4. Glendaly’stonsils….

I think of Virgil as more of a a raw and unaccomplished Pierce O’Leary.

    Give him time……

Nah seriously……he reminds me of a young Rio Ferdinand.Nowhere near the quality of Rio at the same age but the signs are there that he will develop to a similar level.

Always good to see teflon Butcher raging- no way the SFA would do anything about him- too high up in the ludge

Always served a good pint in the Windsor. Mainly a Hibs pub but always a few Tims drank in it when I used to drink there 10-15 years ago.

    Neil Lennon’s progress report

After Celtic’s resounding 4-0 victory at Easter Road, their full domestic record since Neil Lennon took charge now reads:

    Played 174

    Won 132

    Drawn 20

    Lost 22

    Scored 411

    Conceded 121

    Clean sheets 93

    Failed to score 13

Neil Lennon’s team has won 75.9% of it’s domestic games and lost just 1 in every 7.9.

It has kept a clean sheet in 53.4% of those games whilst scoring in 92.5% of them, averaging 2.36 goals scored and 0.70 conceded per game.

  8. Sammi looked a bit miffed at being subbed today.

Could be for the off I think this month.

If he does go let’s remember all the good times he has given us as there have been many.

You would certainly leave having done a job for us imo.

    I like yer thinking.

I’ve not much time for any of the ex-celts who work for sky but I’m pretty sure even a spineless wretch would have said hibs deserved a penalty for vvd’s trip early on.

  10. Love seeing Celtic win. Thought Hibs made a good fist of it until Virgil’s free kick.

My main concern is this coming summer. 3 CL qualifiers that we must win. CP not available due to the games.

World Cup interfering with our need to by flying as a team in July.

Everything – and I mean everything from buying in the January window, to resting players, to giving games to young players – everything must now be focused on being able to be on the front foot in July.

The ‘records’ we speak of mean nothing in the big picture.

Agree with those who see a potential player in Pukki.

The same guy who gets stuck into the Huns as a New Club time and time again.

A truer Celtic man in the media would be harder to find.

Courage of his convictions…..one of us….always will be.

Intelligent guy who tells it as it is.

Ho how I laughed, and when was his last pronouncement on servco? This was that man that they abused relentlessly. If you think he’s always given “honest” commentary on Celtic your deluded. As someone else said they have a mortgage to pay.

    Get real man.

Elliott Celtics best ever centre back! Really???

    OMG….I must be getting old!

He was only here for a blink of an eye….maybe 50 games!

Happy Days……yet there are still one or two who still lambast the Board…….they need to start lambasting the MSM instead….anyway, don’t want a debate to start on this…..just pisses me off when some don’t realise ….OUR DAY HAS COME…….AND THEY ARE DEED…would anyone have believed that when they were cheating their way to 3 in a row……..and there’s more to come

  14. Geordiemunro…..

Hibs were denied a stonewall penalty mate…..you’re bang on with that.

How people can criticise Andy Walker for pointing this out defies belief.

Some people hate any type of criticism….even when it is correct.

  15. rye…

Agree with you in general…but not a pen for me.

Tho nowadays in this contact sport, contact seems to be a foul regardless!

Sorry I couldn’t reply to earlier posts. Wife kidnapped the iPad.ndid anybody else lose the programme during the second half. I missed Pukki’s goal but saw it on play backs. Kept losing the interviews and after match comments too:-((

Brilliant result though and great goals even if it was closer than the score suggested. Well done to the players, management and our tremendous away support. I’m going up to Leith in a few hours with a wee smile on my face :-))

  17. Big Dick (Virgil) is our best signing since orr Hendrick the King of Kings. The man is world class and long may he pull on the Hoops. Just an all-round football player !Brilliant!

Good times, good times. 11 league wins in a row, ninth clean-sheet in a row, 15 points clear with 2 games in hand, well done NL.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++

If you think we are joyful at this, think how much sorrow it is causing elsewhere :)

Perhaps Pukki has finally found the tempo of our game, best performance since he arrived.

Reminded me a bit of battering Goram’s Rangers, all us then they go up the park and score.

Is Stanton related to Pat Stanton? Looks a gifted player to me.

  19. ryecatcher

And are you going to go through the other faults that the officials had in the game?

He’s a nit picking excelt that knows were his wage comes from, just how many ex celts appear on the commentary circuit? and that’s any media (Ill grant you the penalty decision)

Absolutely…….LL thrive on anti-Celtic rhetoric, but Pukki starting to embarrass them, Lubo-style…..

  24. Hope someone has a word with big Virgil and tells him to avoid a media career when he eventually hangs up his boots.

He could score a free kick in every game between now and 10 in a row…..but even one comment on air that is seen as remotely critical about Celtic….will then be known as the Dutch Diddy.

Can’t think of one ex Celtic player who doesn’t get pelters from our fanbase if they ever dare to give their opinion to the media.

Ffs……even Chris Sutton got it yesterday.

  25. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Well another 3 points and a clean sheet at a venue most of us if we were being honest would have been a little worried about. We were a bit sluggish at times and big Vic wasnt as dominating in defence as usual but the wall behind him showd International form so well done to big Fraser.I dindt think big Charlie was at the top of his game and Biton looked to casual at times. The two full backs put in a power of work and Joe Ledley was tidy KC was his usual menacing self but Sammi should have stayed in the house. In the second half Pukki had his finest 45 mins so far in the hoops and Balde and the new guy werent on the park long enough to show us what they can do.Oh I nearly forgot Efe who had a fine game so And Broonie who put in a power of work so now on to Killie at home on Wednesday .H.H.

  26. TheOriginalSadiesBhoy on

Some very good performances today. Fraser was excellent some absolutely great saves eclipsed by his world class save from young Stanton. I thought Darnell Fisher was great too playing against a very tricky Harris who is a great young player for Hibs. Darnell had not only Harris to cope with but Zoubir (sp) and Stanton at times too.

Can’t say anything about Virgil that hasn’t already been said. He should make a decent centre back if he stays with Celtic for a few years :-)) Kris Commons wonderful again and Teemu played really well when he came on and turned the tide against Hibs. Very happy for him that he scored. Keeps improving and I think we have signed a player if not a prolific goalscorer. I would have liked to have seen more of Amido. He seems to be turning into a cult figure amongst the support.

If Sammi and Joe have not signed contracts then they will protect themselves from injury. In that case they should not be played before our projects unless we have injuries or suspensions.
