I criticised Brendan, Lawwell and the Board. My view is that a higher proportion of the blame lies with the latter two. The summer window was an abomination, Lawwell has one window to fix it our BR will be offski in the summer, imo.

I totally agree that this January window, our board must ( with the help of visionary scouts) bring BR’s requirements to the table.
BR has done his bit, we have European football after Christmas. Now it’s the boards turn.

My great niece for her 16th birthday got a ticket for her first ever away game at Dens Park, i took her father to his first game at the age of 8, he textd the other week moaning that we don’t attend games (life gets in the way) so should I tell our Niamh don’t bother about Celtic as the game is bent ???

Agree to a certain extent with Lewis Morgan, although he might show better with a longer run – or even a full game ahead of Sinclair, who just seems incapable of hitting top form at the minute. Hard for a new, young player to hit the ground running and pull more senior players out from they hole they dug for themselves.
Appreciate Ryan Christie has done brilliantly this past couple of months, but he has had an extended run in Aberdeen’s first team in the top division, so not absolutely like for like when comparing with Morgan.
Do agree with you re: Mikey Johnson – always looks bright and dangerous when he comes on. Gave us one of our few sparks when he came on today – set up a couple of good chances – boy looks really fast too.

Worryingly we need the following
A goalkeeper, who is comfortable with the ball at his feet
A right back ( and I would be keeping Lustig, this is to replace Gamboa)
2 Centre halves ( Boyata and Benkovic)
A holding midfielder ( to eventually replace Broonie)
A creative midfielder, who can compete in Europe ( yes we have potential in the squad, but Rogic struggles against better quality opposition)
2 new strikers, of which 1 needs to be a first team regular
A lot needed
This doesn’t include rpthose who need to be moved on
My view, our squad is nowhere near as good as many believe

I agree 100% with your assessment, it’s just no gonna happen, we will go with what we have imo, we will also struggle to get rid, we are paying them far too much, they will sit back and count the money each month for doing a little training, no bad if you can get it

I see you are advising me to check on Transfermarkt the fees paid in earlier years by Salzburg but, I explained that I could not find that part of the site.
Perhaps, in this case, you could prove your own point by getting the information.
As I said, I don’t know how any site knows this information with any accuracy and, as I also said, their current valuations of players bears no relation to the fees that were actually paid for them.
Your point re Salzburg may well be accurate but this Transfermarkt site adds no credence to them

Need to clear out the squad dross to free up wages. Smaller squad, with more quality. Current B team cost us points every time. Get rid of De Vries, Hendry, Simunovic, Gamboa, Allan, Hayes, Sinclair, Comperr, Mulumbu, Benyu, Kouassi. Cost a fortune in wages and make no contribution. Jury out on Morgan and Ajer. Replace with 3-4 quality additions. Assuming Rodgers and Congerton can actually make a success of recruitment this time.
