Hibs are above Celtic for good reason

419

The next 19 days sees Celtic in action against Hearts twice, Leipzig twice, Hibs (tomorrow) and Dundee, the latter the only prosaic occasion among them.  How we negotiate this period will go a long way to determine our domestic and European season.

Brendan will almost certainly rest Tom Rogic after his midweek trip to Kuwait but with five days until we face Leipzig, I expect a full strength team for the visit of Neil Lennon’s side.

Hibs are above us in the league for a reason, they have lost only twice this season (once domestically and once in Europe) and have the best goal difference in the league.  They did very well home and away against us last season and Neil will ensure his team have no concerns about visiting Celtic Park this term.

The players know the scale of the challenge ahead, which should bring the best out of them.  A sneaky feeling we might end the weekend top of the league too.

I think you have been well answered by Bobby M and Jamesgang.

A good cleric and a good husband would do what is right in a given situation.

You invoke a school of thought that is not in keeping with today’s reality.

The irony is, that in the days when it was universally accepted that priests remain celibate, a potential father was not allowed to be within an ass’ roar of a labour suite.

I’ve been off the blog for a few days and have been enjoying your posts above about, I presume, your father’s handling of his religious calling. Absolutely great to read and about your visit to your great aunt in the USA – we’ve all got someone like that in our families ?. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your posts.

  5. Paul any thoughts on where Callum will play tomorrow? Brendan possibly discovered an answer to our midfield lethargy I posted this article on yesterday’s blog.

Interesting article below re: defensive midfielder role in modern game. Calum McGregor v St Johnstone played this role to perfection IMHO. Perhaps this was the reason for our improved performance? Be interesting to see where he plays at the weekend.

  6. Looking like Hearts fans will number well over 30000 at the semi final.

For once the other team will have justifiable cause for asking for a fair share.

It will be interesting to see how many Celtic fans attend. Plenty of tickets anyway as stadium holds 67000.

I’m not really on the happy pills. Got to pay for your prescriptions down here(!)

I would like to know who was/ were the reciients of the £3,500,000, I did ask but did not get a reply. A huge amount of money burned wasted.

  9. My prediction for Saturday is the Celtic will play in their traditional Green and White Hoops whilst Hibs will turn out in a full Neon Yellow strip that was designed by some skunkmeister on LSD. * Bring your shades to prevent the possibility of retinal ‘burnout ‘ ?.

SOT, poor goalkeeping in at least three of those goals but it would certainly be a mistake to stand off them. We’ll need to double up on our right.

  10. A new monk arrives at the monastery. He is assigned to help the other monks in copying the old texts by hand. He notices, however, that they are copying copies, and not the original books.

So, the new monk goes to the head monk to ask him about this. He points out that if there was an error in the first copy, that error would be continued in all of the other copies. The head monk says, “We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son.”

So, he goes down into the cellar with one of the copies to check it against the original. Hours later, nobody has seen him. So, one of the monks goes downstairs to look for him. He hears sobbing coming from the back of the cellar and finds the old monk leaning over one of the original books crying. He asks what’s wrong.

“The word is celebrate not celibate,” says the old monk with tears in his eyes.

  14. Has that new club been fined yet for the supporter who threw a coin at a linesman? Surely it’s not only Celtic that is fined for that?

  15. Anne Budge said farts had sold 23,000 tickets yesterday

My mate got ours a week ago but looking on Celtic website I was only offered tickets in Upper North and West stands

clicked on a few sections only a few rows available in 6 or so sections

Alfie Conn is probably the most humble, nice ex Rangers/Celtic players I ever met. Got stoned with him one night in Captain’s Rest his boozer. He admitted he was a Jambo, but preferred us to huns. Sound guy

*hmmm interesting as he was a thorn in our side when playing for them, was sent off against us for humphin Tid. Not surprised by the jambo connection as his da was a legend there.

    Tontine

From what I could gather from Alfie Conn, he got incredible hassle and threats from huns when he signed for us. Put him right off them. He was always in the company of some Glasgow hard ‘faces’. A bit like Lenny about the West End.

My dad also told me that Conn senior was a Gorgie legend.
