Hibs are above Celtic for good reason

419

The next 19 days sees Celtic in action against Hearts twice, Leipzig twice, Hibs (tomorrow) and Dundee, the latter the only prosaic occasion among them.  How we negotiate this period will go a long way to determine our domestic and European season.

Brendan will almost certainly rest Tom Rogic after his midweek trip to Kuwait but with five days until we face Leipzig, I expect a full strength team for the visit of Neil Lennon’s side.

Hibs are above us in the league for a reason, they have lost only twice this season (once domestically and once in Europe) and have the best goal difference in the league.  They did very well home and away against us last season and Neil will ensure his team have no concerns about visiting Celtic Park this term.

The players know the scale of the challenge ahead, which should bring the best out of them.  A sneaky feeling we might end the weekend top of the league too.

That brings back memories, went on all the trips from 1950 to 1955, family flited to Yorkshire, father was a coal miner, worked at Southfield Pit

Went on my first trip to Celtic Park on the supporters bus in 1950 as a 7 year old. Left from the Works Corner. Does it still leave from there.

Bring flowers of the rarest, I rise from dreams of time and Guardian Angel are part of the birthright of Catholics of a certain vintage. I attended a funeral recently of a friend of mine at which 2 of them were played. I would be happy to have all 3….

    Week 4 update.

    ***FINAL REMINDER***

We are down to a dirty dozen who have yet to make their selection for round 4, and there will be no further reminders – aside from a mail which will go out later this evening.

Also, if you fell during International weekend, this is the last round in which you can buy back your history, for the sum of £10 for which, back in the day, you could have bought 10 Rangers Football clubs. Personally, I’d rather flush my money doon the lavvy, but there you go…..

Get your picks in now, or miss out on the chance to win hundreds of ££££’ s for nothing more than sticking a pin into your monitor and sending a few e-mails. You know it makes sense. ?

  8. Also.

    If you’re around… ?

Delaneys Dunky and Tooting Tim… You need to tell me who you want in the next round. Check your e-mails from last night

  10. SpringhillBhoy,

I cant begin to tell you how happy I am to hear from you. I live in Springhill. No the bus doesn’t leave from the works corner anymore. Although I got on the bus there many times as a boy/lad. My uncle Frank was a bus convenor. He looked after me when it was away games.

For quite a few years there were 2 buses left from Shotts, one from the Station Hotel and one from the Brandy Bar. There was two supporters clubs, now I think only one – St. Patricks. They leave from the Brandy but pick up along the way.

You are a lucky sod living in Yorkshire. They have the best Brass Bands in the Universe. Black Dyke, Grimethorpe, Brighouse & Rastrick, Yorkshire Imperials. And many more.

If you are ever in Shotts go into The Brandy and ask for me, I will be there providing I’ve not got a 3 day hangover. BTW they know me as Jimthetim too.

My late father used to sing the chorus of Terry.

He told me that it was often sung at Parkhead,(that’s what it was called then).

To understand how long ago that was, it was way, way, long before my time.

Our mutual friend in Club Celtic the Elder tells a great and true story

The then Moderator of the COS was visiting his Lanarkshire Parish, and all the Elders were lined up to meet him

As Brian was known to be a Celtic Supporter, he was ushered towards the back of the delegation as the Moderator was meeting and greeting those and such like at the front, eventually meeting Brian he engaged in some Football Talk Brian told him he was a Celtic Supporter to which the moderator also said so am l

At this point, those and such as those at the front nearly collapsed as Brian and the moderator went into deep discussion on all things Celtic
