Hibs are hiding. But they appear against Celtic

67

Hibernian are suffering.  Only one win in their last seven league games and that against bottom, St Mirren.  Without a manager since Neil Lennon wasn’t sacked and didn’t resign, but left the stage, apparently through supernatural means, they have drifted into the bottom half of the table.  Most worryingly of all, they are 10 points behind Craig Levein’s Hearts.

But here’s the thing: Hibs are hiding.  They can up their game and did so to comfortably beat Celtic eight league games ago.  They also held Newco home and away.  This is a team which can up its game to match the occasion.

Celtic remain significantly understrength but they have delivered solid results since the winter break – 14 goals without reply.  In Scott Sinclair, James Forrest and Callum McGregor they have players who have seen it all and delivered before.  The chasing pack continue to drop points to each other; only Celtic and Motherwell have won all league games since the break.  With second and third facing each other tonight, a Celtic win would see the gap widen for one or both.  There’s an incentive.

  1. MIKE IN TORONTO @ 3:07 PM,

    Yes, that’s an interesting comparison…

I’ll always remember being in the Costa del Sol many, many years back. About 19 y.o. bumped I to a Scots lad, maybe a wee bit younger who said he came from a town not far from where I came from (I’d been in England about 6 years then).

So I said… Ah the Jesus and Mary Chain come from there don’t they?

He replied… Yeah! Bunch of weirdos

It’s at that point I realised that spending my formative years in Southern England was not all bad…

The Scots in general, and it is to my mind inherent in the working classes, have a very conservative (with a small ‘c’) take on things…

Does this attitude extend to Celtic? Well I think it probably does, more than we realise. The moral and ethical outlook has to be applauded but in general it keeps us back, keeps us in the status quo…

As the status quo is in terminal decline, with morals and ethics to boot, then things have got to change.

Jock Tamson’s kids definitely need to shake things up…

    Hail Hail

ABERDEEN South MP Ross Thomson was reportedly removed from a bar in Parliament last night.

According to the Guido Fawkes blog, the Tory was groping male visitors.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that they had been called at around 11pm “following a report of sexual touching”.

A spokesman said: “Police were called at approximately 23:00hrs on 5 February to a bar within the Palace of Westminster following a report of sexual touching.

“Officers attended and spoke to the parties involved – three men in their 20s and 30s. However, no formal allegations were made to the officers and no arrests were made.”

A spokesman for the Scottish Tories said they were “aware of reports of an incident last night” and that the “matter is being looked into.”

Thomson has been approached for comment.

An eyewitness told Guido Fawkes: “He was in Strangers last night drunk and was groping young men who had guest passes on. Grabbing their backside and genitals and trying to put his hands down people’s pants.

“Many people watched on in disgust and I saw someone pull him to one side to ask him to leave. He returned around four times after being chaperoned out and carried on groping people.

“It became so unpleasant that the police had been called and eventually escorted him out of the bar after taking statements in the corridor. I believe the Sergeant at Arms is also aware of the incident.”

NOW see what MOREORLESS has started.

has anyone ever seen any evidence in writting by the man himself that james connolly was indeed a hibs supporter ? i like the ideal of it, i like the historian talking about him in the cowgate, but is there any paper anywhere with any comment from him about the team ?

The contract was signed fair and square, The responsibility for the players transport lay with the agent Willie MacKay and Cardiff’s player liaison officer. Nantes are entitled to the money and Cardiff should pay up.

Clubs have got to club together to do something like the EPL and use professional referees.

Nothing effective has been done since on the three major issues that blight Scottish football, indeed it has got worse and supporters have allowed it by putting club before football.
