If an invincible season in the league is to be completed, we now know it will happen at Celtic Park on Sunday, 21 May, against Hearts. While getting over the line is always the most difficult part of a challenge, away games at Pittodrie, where we play nearest challengers Aberdeen, on Friday 12 May, and Ibrox, where we play Newco on 29 April, will present the most significant challenges to our attempts to complete the season undefeated.
There is also the non-trivial matter of an away derby match against our oldest Glasgow rivals, Partick Thistle, on 18 May. Thistle are a tidy team, currently on excellent form. This is exactly the kind of game that has a tendency of stopping history in its tracks. We’ve work to do at Dingwall on Sunday before any of this, of course.
The league split was conceived to accommodate competing needs for more teams in the top flight, but fewer games. This season it has also given us some really attractive looking games after the main issue was settled.
I know one or two who would like future fixtures to be arranged to avoid the title being decided during Lent. I’m not going to say this will be easy to achieve, but it could easily be added to the agenda at next monthly conclave between the SFA, the Scottish Premiership and the Vatican.
We have halfway through our two day raffle for TWO TICKETS to the Scottish Cup semi-final next weekend. Raffle is in aid of Mary’s Meals. To enter, make a minimum £5 donation here, then email me, celticquicknews@gmail.com with the words “Scottish Cup” in the subject line, to confirm your entry.
This is a short competition, so get in quick. Competition closes noon tomorrow. Many thanks to those who entered yesterday. Remember to put your contact details on your email, wouldn’t be the first time someone didn’t get the winning email confirmation.

Different daughter Jimmy,
In any case shure I know the Celts will win 4 nil, I don’t need anyone to tell me otherwise.
Keep well my friend & keep your spirits up.
Positivity is the name of the game.
JNP 8.28pm
My illness is not termina
… had us all worried for a bit there ;)
Hunderbirds 8.31.
I knew your question was genuine. The bit about a debate was not directed at you in anyway. Sometimes, on the blog, people have answered a question and before you know it……….
I hope you had a fab holiday.
Hail Hail.
looking back, I have misread the note … it is apparently 100,000 in the area that was bombed …. no idea yet how many killed or injured…. still whether it is 100 or 100,000, some will no doubt be innocent, and, in any event, sometimes bad things have to be done … but to take joy in that …. I dont understand how anyone can …
Hunderbirds 8.39.
That is funny.
I couldn’t have done that if I tried.
Hail Hail.
Jimmynotpaul, your condition sounds very debilitating and the fact it can hit you unexpectedly , you show great character by stlll working plus dealing with it as best you can.
Our team doing so well this season must be a good pick me up.
MIT
Well said Mike.
No need for glorification of war and death on CQN.
HH
Evening troops in the Hoops!
Was just looking back at Paul67 article “Whichever part of ny club…”
from Oct 2011.
Funny to see how the impending hun-doom was being discussed/analyzed.
Philvisreturns stated that the only fair thing to happen was what actually happened. Smart nan was Phil, and kissed as well.
Some other names also posted missing these days – thegreenmanilishi, fergusslayedtheblues, hen1rik…
Oh and the hun website had a different accountant they all listened to called Sam :-)
John Guidetti makes it 3-1 to Celta Vigo.
Apols for the spelling gaffes….think my eyesight is going. Reads better though :-)
Hunderbirds
L of a funny!

Monday is bank holiday in Scotland
Anderlecht chasing shadows since Manure scored. They need to calm doon when they have possession. Half time 0-1.
BEATBHOY
Aye, it was an L of a gag.
:)
Dallas. 8.43.
As ever bang on the button.
CQN, is a God send for me. Even on the vast majority of Saturday afternoons, I’m having to rest in bed, it’s all about recovering for the week ahead. I get a good few hours most days 7 to about 2 then it’s like someone pulling the plug out, that’s a good day of course.
This will be the first season since 1970 where I have not attended a game. Me and my son had two season tickets, this year down to one, but as you know he’s back playing Juniors, so unless game moved to a Sunday we don’t
use it, we give it to supporters bus. Any way that ghuy who uploads the goals, he’s probably no idea how much of a lift that gives me and I dare say countless others, to see the goals,a few minutes after they are scored really gladdenes my heart.
Dallas, I know you have your own health issues, so thanks for being you.
Hall Hail.
MIT,
You’re right, the number of actual fatalities is somewhat irrelevant . There’s no glory here and certainly nothing to be happy about.
I sought out some more ‘news’ on this appalling action. Apparently this ‘bomb’ isn’t even the biggest one they have – this one only weighs around 21,600 lb. the SOP bomb is almost 1/3 bigger, at 30,000lb. The one they dropped today cost $16m.
How many new ways will they come up with to kill as many as possible with as little effort as possible.
It’s all very depressing.
Young Spanish couple in 67. Find out they’re Celia Vigo fans. Get TV turned. Soon singing the Guidetti song.

Sorry for being pedantic. Lent ends today before Holy Mass. Triduum starts today after twilight and ends before twilight on Sunday.
Twilight starts and finishes the day and we are in agreement with Jewish tradition there. See Genesis 1,1-2
I hope you don’t mind :-)
Hunderbirds effort at 8.39 did make me laugh though.
Much needed.
Re The Sopranos,
Not seen the Wire but will add it to the list of “still to watch list”, however it must be real good to beat the Sopranos.
Great cast & excellent storylines.
The one when Vito has to start a new life & the day when his workday drags on is class..
Here’s the clip…enjoy

Crazy 80’s style fan scenes delayed kick off at Lyon v Besiktas match.
ZBYSZEK
No problems, I was always keeping Lent till Easter Sunday until last few years. Must be getting old? This year I will enjoy a drink on Saturday.
BT.
Thanks , that confirms my thoughts. Working for a Swedish company now and they were asking me. HH
Zbyszek
Was telling TBJ that our parish are having a Saturday blessing of the food as a result of request of the Polish community
J.McCormick/BT.
Scottish government website states bank holidays in Scotland as:
Good Friday 14th April.
No mention of Easter Monday.
Hail Hail
The amount of crap surrounding King is quite extraordinary – a criminal, a proven liar and now a financial pariah.
Yet any criticism of him from the Ibrox club followers is infinitessimal in comparison to the vitriol and hatred directed at Peter Lawwell on here.
A CEO in charge of Celtic during the second most successful ‘on the park’ period in its 129 years.
His crime? He earns his agreed salary and bonuses by making Celtic the best funded club in the history of Scottish football.
It’s a funny old world.
Celtic could definitely give Anderlecht or Manure a game.
I really, really hope we can negotiate the minefield that is the Champions League Qualifiers next season.
Jimmynotpaul, thank you for you kind words.
My health issues are minor in relation to what your good self and thousands of others suffer.
How are Cumbernauld United getting on this season?
The posts with goals from our games , a few minutes after we score are marvellous for those who cant be at our games. A big plus for for the internet.
JNP
Thanks for answer I was going back to my days in DHSS when we worked good Friday and holiday was Easter Monday
I get both days so thought Monday was still bank holiday
Blantyretim
This is very strong tradition in here.
See you soon, probably.
Martial just come on for Manure. His next goal will cost Utd £8m apparently, under the terms of his transfer from Monaco.
I hope it’s the consolation goal in an 8-1 defeat to Citeh :)))
JNP.
Thanks for clouding the issue!!!
Never mind I’ll take the two of them off HH
Dallas.
A very mixed season for Cumbernauld.
Started off well, then didn’t win a game for 7/8 games, sacked the manager, new manager had a great start won a few but have lost their last two.
John Paul McBride is the assistant manager now.
They are not safe yet, as, I think bottom 4 are relegated, they are just above that.
Hail Hail
Zbyszek
Will do, have been back in contact with Warsawbhoy and will meet up with him in Lisbon also
Yaaaaaassss. Equaliser for Anderlecht. Joe Jordan style header.
BT
Please pass my all the best to WarszawaBhoy when you see him.Sounds like a great company.
For younger posters, that’s a bullet header that nearly takes the net out ;)
Matts Nilloc @ 9:17
Not many Celtic related posts on here tonight but yours would still have been excellent even amongst a plethora. It would be good if it made one or two reassess their viewpoint but I doubt it will.
`night all.
