HOLM AND AWAY

ODIN HOLM is heading for the Celtic exit – after just 16 appearances in almost three years.

The 23-year-old Norwegian midfielder cost £2.3million when the champions signed him from Valerenga in the summer of 2023, effectively Brendan Rodgers’ first recruit in his second time-around stint at Parkhead.

Holm, who penned a five-year contract, was rated one of his country’s brightest prospects, but injury has ravaged his time at the Hoops.

He returned from a season-long loan from MLS outfit Los Angeles FC in December last year, but failed to figure under Wilfried Nancy and Martin O’Neill.

HEADING FOR A FALL…Odin Holm is sent toppling in Celtic’s 1-0 League Cup loss to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in August 2023.

Now the youngster is on his way back to his homeland on a loan deal with his former club Valerenga until the end of the domestic season in November, according to a report on local media TV2.

Holm has been diagnosed with a rare medical condition which affects his calves and, by the player’s admission, leaves him feeling “half-paralysed” during matches.

He has been training with the first team since his return from the USA and is desperate to get his career back on track.

Holm is expected in Oslo today to finalise the switch before the transfer deadline later this evening.
