FORMER Celtic £3.8million flop Marc-Antoine Fortune has joined English fifth-tier outfit Chesterfield.

The 37-year-old frontman was signed for the Hoops during Tony Mowbray’s disastrous 10-month reign at Parkhead.

Fortune moved from West Brom on July 9 2009 and scored 10 goals in 32 games. Inside a year he was on his way back to the Hawthorns for an undisclosed fee.

After three years with the Midlands club, the Frenchman played with Wigan, Doncaster Rovers and Coventry City.

He spent last season with League One side Southend where he claimed five strikes in 32 appearances.

Chesterfield boss Martin Allen said: “He’s a centre-forward who played over 30 games last season in League One. He has experience, hunger and desire and he will fit in perfectly well with all our squad.”
