HOOPS CONFIRM DE VRIES DEAL

CELTIC have confirmed the signing of Dutch keeper Dorus de Vries – as CQN indicated last night.

The 35-year-old shotstopper has agreed a two-year deal to quit Nottingham Forest who are expected to pick up a transfer fee in the region of £400,000.
De Vries knows Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers after working with him at Swansea City.
The goalie has already had a spell in Scottish football, playing for Dunfermline in 2006/07. He faced the Hoops in the Scottish Cup Final, losing an 85th minute goal to Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe.
De Vries has arrived as back-up for Craig Gordon after Belgian understudy Logan Bailly broke an ankle in pre-season which left Rodger with rookie Italian Leo Fasan as inexperienced cover.
The 20-year-old was given the No.1 position for tonight’s International Champions Cup encounter against Inter Milan in Limerick.
Rodgers sent out this team to start: Fasan; Janko, Boyata, McCart, Izaguirre; Ajer, Henderson, Johansen, Armstrong; Ciftci, Christie.
