HOOPS GET GO-AHEAD FOR £5.2m TEEN ACE

CROATIAN teenage defender Mario Vuskovic is on the brink of sealing a move to Celtic.

The highly-rated Hadjuk Split defender could be a Hoops player as early as THIS week, according to a report in local media outlet Sportske.

They claim Vuskovic is heading for Parkhead in a deal that could rise to £5.2million with the Hoops ready to pay £4.3million up front for the 19-year-old stopper.

Torino are also hoping to land the talented back-four operator, but it has also been reported Celtic have offered more in personal terms to the player than the Serie A outfit.

The Hoops hierachy are ready to hand Vuskovic a four-year deal worth a basic £12,000-per-week – more than DOUBLE the package from the Italian club.

Hadjuk acknowledge their hottest property will leave the club in this transfer window and Newcastle, Feyenoord and Basel are also monitoring the situation.

But Vuskovic’s advisors feel that a switch to Ange Postecoglou’s side is likely to be in his best interests.

The new manager has identified problem areas in his squad and centre-half is an area that will have to be resolved following Kristoffer Ajer’s admission he wants to leave while Christopher Jullien will be out of action until October at least.
