HOOPS KID IN DEMAND

CELTIC striker Johnny Kenny is poised for a loan move with several clubs monitoring the 19-year-old Irishman.

Carlisle United are among the frontunners with less than two weeks left to get business done in this transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou is keen for the youngster to get game-time after his £125,000 five-year deal after signing from Sligo Rovers in January.

BY THE LEFT…Johnny Kenny, watched by James Forrest, lashes in the first of his double in the 7-0 pre-season win over Austrian Third Division side Weiner Viking.

The English League Two side are one of the clubs who are looking at Kenny’s situation, according to a report in the Scottish Daily Express.

Teams on both sides of the border have been alerted to the fact the champions will not stand in the way of their player gaining first-team experience elsewhere.

Kenny attracted the attention of Hoops scouts when he netted 11 goals in his first season with the League of Ireland side.

He netted twice in Celtic’s 7-0 romp over Third Division Weiner Viking in the opening game of the pre-season tour of Austria.
