HOOPS KID ON MOVE – AGAIN

LIAM BURT is on the look-out for a new club – after leaving Celtic for a SECOND time.

The champions have decided against staking up the 12-month option on the 21-year-old Scottish youth international’s contract.

Burt, who left the Hoops in 2014 to join the academy at Ibrox, returned to Parkhead in August last year after agreeing a switch to the club’s development squad.

The youngster made just three first-team appearances in his five years in Govan and trained regularly with the first team during the short-lived reigns of Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha.

Burt scored the winning goal on his debut for the Celtic Colts when he hit the deciding penalty-kick in a Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup-tie against Queen’s Park.

The attacking middle-of-the-park performer, who captained his country at Under-17 and 19 level, scored seven goals in 12 games for the development squad and also grabbed a hat-trick in a 6-0 victory for the reserves against Stenhousemuir.

However, according to a report in the Scottish Sun, it was not enough to persuade the champions to take up the option of extending his deal.
