HOOPS LINK TO DUTCH STRIKER

CELTIC have been linked with Nottingham Forest’s frozen-out Dutch striker Lars Veldwijk.
The 24-year-old Dutchman spent last season on loan at Eredivisie outfit PEC Zwolle after failing to impress following his move from Excelsior.
Veldwijk netted 14 times in 35 appearances last term, but returned to the Championship side after being recalled by new head coach Philippe Montanier.Ex-boss Stuart Pearce snapped him up in the summer of 2014 after he scored 30 goals in 38 games for Excelsior.
However, Veldwijk struggled to make an immediate impact, failing to start a league game and making just 11 substitute appearances.  He travelled with the Forest squad to Portugal for their pre-season training camp, but wasn’t involved in the 2-1 win over Millwall on Tuesday.
Brendan Rodgers is aware of the frontman’s ability and could make his move to beef up the Hoops attack.
Moussa Dembele has arrived in a £500,000 compensation deal from Fulham, but the Irishman also allowed three strikers to move on in the summer.
He released Anthony Stokes, who is now with Blackburn Rovers, Colin Kazim-Richards, who has moved to Brazil, and veteran former Chelsea and West Ham goalscorer Carlton Cole.
Veldwijk could provide opposition to Rodgers’ only three recognised strikers Dembele, Leigh Griffiths and Nadir Ciftci.
