HOOPS LINKED WITH BARCA KID

CELTIC have been linked with winger Alex Collado who is poised to quit Barcelona within the next 12 days.

Hoops scouts have been tracking the 21-year-old flanker and the champions could make a move before the October 5 deadline, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Collado has been told he will not be in new bossĀ Ronald Koeman’s plans and will be allowed to leave the Nou Camp.

The tricky wide man scored five goals for the B side last season and is on his way back to full fitness following a metatarsal fracture.

Collado has made just two first-team appearances for the Catalan giants, the last as a substitute at Valencia in January.

Koeman is having a clear-out at Barca and the youngster will be among those on their way out. However, the Parkhead side could face a fight to land the raider who was once tipped for great things at the club.

Villarreal, Torino and Werder Bremen have also been checking on Collado’s availability and Koeman appears willing to allow the player to leave on loan with interested clubs having the option to buy at the end of the season.

Lennon has been light on wide players after allowing Scott Sinclair to move to Preston and Lewis Morgan to Inter Miami in January. Marian Shved has switched on a temporary transfer to Belgium while Jonny Hayes returned to Aberdeen at the end of his contract in June.

Mikey Johnston is also a long-term injury victim and there has been no date put on a comeback.

The Hoops gaffer still has Charlton’s left-sided Alfie Doughty in his sights, despite the English League One side knocking back two offers for the 20-year-old who is keen to move to Scotland.
