LEWIS MORGAN is poised to disappoint Hibs boss Neil Lennon and join Aberdeen on loan or the remainder of the season.

The winger, signed from St Mirren for a bargain £300,000 a year ago, looked set for a switch to Easter Road, but Dons gaffer Derek McInnes has moved to the front of the queue for the Scotland international.

The 22-year-old attacker is set to leave Parkhead this month having found first team opportunities limited.

Brendan Rodgers has ruled out a return to Paisley, but the Pittodrie side have joined Hibs and Hull City as potential short-term destinations.

McInnes remained coy over the transfer and said: “We have lots of conversations with managers and I’ve no comment to make regarding Lewis Morgan. It’s my job to keep my ear to the ground.”

The Dons have already brought Max Lowe and Greg Stewart back to Pittodrie this monthLowe spent the first half of the season with the club and played against the Hoops in last month’s Betfred League Cup Final. Derby’s move for Ashley Cole allowed him to return to Scotland until the end of the season.
