HOOPS STAR IN TRANSFER TUG OF WAR

MIKAEL LUSTIG is poised to become the centre of a transfer tug of war between rivals Malmo and AIK Stockholm in the summer.

The 32-year-old Celtic right-back will be out of contract at the end of the season and it looks as though he will be heading for the Parkhead exit.

The Swedish giants will be rivals as they attempt to lure him back to his homeland.

Lustig has been seven years at the Hoops after being signed by ex-boss Neil Lennon from Rosenborg. He has won seven titles, three Scottish Cups and four League Cups, but injuries and loss of form have interrupted his progress over the past two seasons.

Brendan Rodgers has looked elsewhere to fill the No.2 position and Jeremy Toljan arrived from Borrusia Dortmund last month on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign.

Costa Rica international Cristian Gamboa, bought for £1.2million by the Irishman from West Brom in August 2016, is also a free agent in the summer.
