CELTIC’S history-making teenage striker Jack Aitchison has joined Alloa on loan for the remainder of the season.

The youngster has gone straight into the squad to face Premiership St Mirren in this afternoon’s Scottish Cup confrontation.

Aitchison became the youngest player to represent and score for the Hoops in a competitive match in 2016 at the age of 16 and 71 days.

The highly-rated prospect came on as a late substitute in Ronny Deila’s last match as manager and claimed the seventh goal in a landslide 7-0 win over Motherwell at Parkhead in the final game of the season.

Aitchison joined Dumbarton in a temporary switch at the start of the term, but made only four appearances for the League One side.

Jim Goodwin’s Alloa currently sit eighth in the Championship, 17 points above rock-bottom Partick Thistle.

Brendan Rodgers sees the youngster as one for the future and wants him to get game time before the end of the current campaign.
