Hopes for Arne

310

Arne Engels’ physical stature belies his age.  Still 21, he is already a winner at Celtic and full Belgian international.  21 is the age Callum McGregor was when he made his (scoring) Celtic debut.  Callum was a year older when he first moved into the middle of the park from the wing.  The captain is likely to end his career as the most honoured player is our history, but we needed patience to see him grow into the player he became.

At the same age, Reo Hatate was still at university.  He had made 62 appearances for Kawasaki Frontale (who get an interesting amount of column inches on CQN these days), when he moved to Celtic as a 24-year-old.  Aaron Mooy went below the radar at St Mirren at 21!

Young Reo was studying at 21, we probably saw Aaron at the same age and didn’t notice him, and we watched enough of Callum at this age to know the scale of development between 21 and 24 is enormous.

I like what we’ve seen so far from Arne and have big hopes he will continue to kick on during the season ahead.

Talking of tippy-tappy,there’s the ladies ping pong final about to start. And as per never heard of either of them.

Bring back Chris Evert and Yvonne Goolagong. They could make the balls fizz !

  2. Must admit, don’t like tippy tappy football, especially in our domestic football.

I would suggest that scinerio is a major factor in our ground starting to empty with 15 minutes to go.

Did I detect a wee double fault (sorry, double entendre) in there?

Definitely worthy of an “ooh er missus” imo. 😀

  8. Technology is incredible. It gets smaller and slicker, slicker and smaller.

Even old duffers can use it

There really are some wonderfully inventive people on this earth

Meanwhile, in another part of the UK this weekend, there was a discussion re whether a large uncontrolled fire should be lit, in close proximity to both asbestos laden materials and power generators for 2 major hospitals.

This argument genuinely had 2 sides.

Even more remarkably, the fire was indeed lit

We are a strange old species.

Can anyone tell me the benefits of buying the Celtic TV Premium (£80) as opposed to the Standard Package (£50)? I want to know if I’m on holiday abroad, will I be able to watch Celtic play live on Celtic

    ############

Apologies if this has already been answered.

To get Ctv abroad, register with a different username and email combination from your home login and, while abroad, you will be offered a monthly subscription at £14.99. Remember to cancel it when you return to avoid recurring payments.

    A truly fantastic day

  16. 3 sloppy goals and more evidence we need midfielders who can defend and protect the back line – a new center to partner ccv is needed too.

We’ve known this since last season – yet the manger only talks to buying in the forward areas – blind!!!

  17. Have no idea what these games are proving.Looks like we are just running around. No tactics,,no style of play..We could do this in Tollcross Park.Mixing the first and second teams looks like a shambles.First team, first half, second team, second half.At least we will have some format. No idea how this helps new signings merge with new teamates.

He gets away with it it because he knows a huge number of the fans(59,999) are blind.

Jeez, the 60,000 who keep the board in place, and who also went along with the same club lie £49 ticket stitch up when Rangers got promoted, are so fkn blind its led to a club version of the Tory party.

PLC Tory board, Rodgers the landed gentry property tycoon, multi millionaire slum landlord in the dug out, selecting the team formation and tactics as though he was playing Tory fkn Scrabble, Back Gammon, or some other boring piss.

Then there is Sir Rod the Royal Family loving Fraud, then there is Peter 2 titles out of 14 Grant, appointed as the boring as fk “Celtic Expert” on the pitiful Celtic TV, with its jobsworth snitchy, sneaky, back ae the bus voiced Cuddihy, Aye!

Then there is the 100’s of miles of Cycle tracks causing nightmare 2 to 3 hr traffic jams around Parkhead district, none at Ibrox aha, all built by the crackpot Snp and Greens who tirelessly tell us there is no money because of Westminster!

Aye cause they give sleekit monies to Isreal for the genocide then pretend to be awe concerned when they wheel oot Racist Yousless hoomza to lie his fake ass off, all voted for by the best mugs that Celtic FC’s Tory bassa leaders have ever been gifted etc, etc, etc, etc.

I get it when we say it’s only pre-season and we’re just getting legs into players, getting kids involved, yada…

but it’s the same story for our opponents (who often looked sharper and stronger in the tackle).

But do the good EPL sides – Liverpool, Arse, Man Citeh etc – also suffer defeats against low ranking Euro sides when doing their pre-season warmups?

My expectations make me think we should dispatch of such minnows without any difficulty at all.

I doubt their fans were in melt down.

It seems like lower rated teams will see this as a chance to prove themselves against more regaled opposition – not unlike Chapel Hill and Notre Dame…
