Hopes for Viljami, Paulo and Maik

155

It wasn’t quite, but if feels like 40 days and 40 nights since we last saw Celtic, and even that game was a penance.  The Bhoys are back in town tomorrow with the visit of Hearts, who, like Celtic, have won three and lost two of their last five games.  Like Celtic, the defeats came to Hibs and Newco.  We can expect a difficult opponent.

Hearts are sixth in the table, just a point ahead of Motherwell, with three games to go before the split.  They are only two points behind Dundee United, and a probable European place next season.  The financial incentive for a club like Hearts to finish in the top six and qualify for Europe gives them a target tomorrow we can only aspire to.

Paulo Bernardo’s return to fitness is great news, although we should not expect Classic Paulo tomorrow.  Hopefully the full flavoured version will be ready for Hampden next month.  I know we are all looking forward to seeing Viljami Sinisalo make his first league appearance for Celtic.  Viljami represents all the ‘buy low and develop’ strategy we have experienced in the last 18 months.  Let’s hope he succeeds.

I would also like to see Maik Nawrocki retain his place.  He has the potential to develop into an excellent Celtic player, but that development needs to happen soon.

Re Narowski but being fast enough – I remember reading Naismith say that when he went for a trial at Arsenal he never kicked a ball, it was all stored tests he did.

That was about 20 years ago, surely we are doing similar these days?

  3. In the heat of Shipbank,

  4. Dear Mr Dermot Desmond, please offer Mr Brendan Rodgers a lifetime Celtic contract he cannot refuse. I keep Horses, need anything ……let me know 👀🍀

  5. I know golf is frowned upon from some posters on here…but a couple of points….Scottie Scheffler is on fire….ex Celtic players I’ve had the privilege of playing golf with are a) good at golf…and b) can all hit the ball a country mile….must be eye ball co-ordination…

  6. The few I’ve played golf with…during an after game beer …all would rather talk about their golf game rather than football…

  7. I suppose like anyone else…no one wants to talk about their “work” during leisure time…

  8. I was told Henrik had beer lifted a golf club before he came to Scotland…but by the time he left he was a 7 handicapper…

    Don’t mention it…

  15. Good Morning Fholk – Grand Day To Be A Tim,

Great to see the band back together, the team missed Calmac, Bernardo, Auston, Liam and Jamsie more than we thought.

We really don’t have the strength in depth to lose that experience and talent and keep~on.

We will be a bit rusty for sure, yet in some ways that is preferable to the lap of honour the run in was looking like a month ago…

    The silver linings…

Schmeichel will be a big miss, yet a rest and recuperation may do him good, and it gives our second choice keeper the game time he needs to play at the necessary level – Good Luck Vil.

We have been given the proverbial kick up Campsies, they don’t give up trebles for just showing up – it’s now time to knuckle down to business.

    McCowan..Engels …Hatate

    Jota….. Idah….. Maeda

Line up I’d like to see start, ( imagine going into April and Celtic were 13 points clear every season? )

Personally prefer Daizen where he’s made his name, scoring from a wider position Adam Idah to give the badly missed ‘physicality’. BR doesn’t have surprises in the squad, as the selections and results in the last few games have shown.

The returning from injury players should give us depth and Paulo Bernardo’s 30 minutes or so, might be vital. CCV has missed his steady partner in BR’s easily best CB pairing, with Auston Trusty.

Celts return to the winning ways in a tidy afternoon

    31003,

I’ve just turned up at a couple of the Shipbank meet ups and been made to feel most welcome.

    Get yourself along 👍🏻

  19. Lurkin Tim 9:33 Football is nothing without fans and the deep pockets of Celtic fans make up a sizeable chunk of the revenue however the season tickets would just about pay for the players wages and overheads to open the doors of paradise. They reality is that the board and management team make choices that result in player trading profits and it is this money that creates the financial gap, not season books and merch. Tens of millions. They won’t get credit on the site or many other but they won’t care either. Most are real Celtic men who have done more for Celtic than anyone on here. Hate them if you want, at the end of the day they own the club and let’s hope that what they want always aligns with what we want. Hail Hail.
