CONFIRMED: GIAKOUMAKIS IN, JOTA MISSING

1

GREEK striker Giorgos Giakoumakis will spearhead Celtic’s bid to reach next month’s Scottish Cup semi-final.

The £2.5million seven-goal hitman is at the centre of the frontline against Dundee United in tonight’s last-eight clash at Tannadice with James Forrest and Daizen Maeda on the flanks.

Giakoumakis is one of four changes made by Ange Postecoglou from the team that overcame Livingston 3-1 in West Lothian just over a week ago.

Also getting the nod to face the Tayside outfit are Josip Juranovic, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley with Nir Bitton, Anthony Ralston and Tom Rogic dropping to the substitutes’ bench.

There is no place in the squad for Filipe Jota who is presumably carrying an injury.

It is the fourth time the sides have met in this campaign with the Hoops winning two – 3-0 at Taandice and 1-0 at Parkhead – a drawing 1-1 in Glasgow.

TEAM: Hart; Juranovic, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Taylor; O’Riley, McGregor, Hatate; Forrest, Giakoumakis, Maeda. Subs: Bain, Jullien, Bitton, Ajeti, McCarthy, Rogic, Johnston, Ideguchi, Ralston, Welsh, Dembele.
