Huge decision ahead for Neil Lennon

833

When they dispensed with Unai Emeri last weekend, Spartak Moscow brought to an end an experiment to bring sophistication to their team.  New caretaker manager, Valeriy Karpin, was manager immediately before Emeri, was also the man who appointed Emeri and stood over him as general manager of the club since moving from the dugout in the summer.

Karpin relies more on his strong, authoritative, personality than tactical innovation, which is likely to mean we face a more disciplined team in Glasgow next week that we faced in Moscow – there will be no brothel at the back.

My main concern is that the Kilmarnock/St Johnstone/Inverness tactics of defending solidly and taking their chances when going forward is perfectly suited for Karpin’s Spartak.  Against Benfica and Barcelona at home, Neil Lennon played it tight and incredibly tight respectively, which proved to be excellent decisions.  He has a huge call to make against Spartak, playing an adventurous game could leave us exposed.

This result is not to be taken for granted.

CQN Annual – perfect Christmas present

It was some comfort to see Celtic back on form last night, especially down the flanks, which were crucial in Moscow and could prove to be so again next week.  Hopefully the knocks and strains which have hampered the squad in recent weeks are beginning to fade ahead of our Christmas Cup Final.

I saw a dog chasing his tail.

He’s done it before and he’ll do it again, so to speak.

    Ours not to reason why.

  2. Listening to talk sport today and Andy Gray tell Richard Keys that he’s in Glasgow next weekend to take part in Rangers’ 140 th anniversary celebrations. Are they getting the celebrations in before they are officially liquidated? Or are they so deluded that sevco think they are the same club? Am confused can anybody out there help?

I still think that with the influence Paul67 has in these parts the game could go ahead tomorrow.

See what you can do at your end, there’s a songs debate raging here and the doors are about to fly off. Some of us won’t make it through tonight.

    Good luck.

Fitba’ kin be a Strange Game.. if wan..only looks at the RAW .. Stats.

    Howevahhhhhhhh..

A loat depends oan How wan, Interprets those Stats..

    According, tae MA interpretation..

Those Stats..which you quoted .. re the Clugger and Hearts Games.. Are Perfectly Understandable… and , made sense..

    Tae Me…

    Because…

    Ah maintain that

In the Game Against the Northern Cluggers..

Celtic, were facing a Determined and Stuffy…

“TEN MEN BEHIND THE BA”Team Formation

in which.. the Team.. who wiz employing that Team Tactic..

    tae Wit..

    The Northern Cluggers..

were content to .. DEFEND.. therefore..their Attacking Stats…

    Were ..natch.. at a MINIMUM

    Whereas.

The Celtic Stats were Enhanced.. because ,they were cast in the Role of

Attackers. because of the Cluggers refusal..

tae Come oot o’ thur Half..and Play a More Open Type Game.

    In the Hearts Confronto..

Hearts DID NOT CHOOSE.. tae follow the Cluggers , .. “Come And Get Us”.. Team Tactics…

    But, chose…in Ma Opinion. Stupidly..

To Play an Open and Attack Minded Game…against the Celtic…which, ended , badly for them..

    but.. Goodly fur US…

And , although, Celtic did play an Attacking Game ,also..

    Their Midfielders..

CREATED very few Chances..for their Strikers..

Hence.. the Large Disparagement.. between the Two Attack-Minded Teams..

    In Corners , Earned..

    so

The Raw Stats ,in the Hearts Vs Celtic game..

    When viewed in this Manner…

    Also…Do Mak a Loata Sense…Indeed.

It would save you, and many others here a lot of bother if you subscribed to Sky / ESPN and let us social misfits do the work of Beelzebub at the away games. Parkhead was like a morgue last week when the GB didn’t bother turning up. Next thing on the agenda will be to rid section 115 of those ‘upstarts’

This thing once had the audacity to “question the upbringing” of a young lad (whom happened to be a Celtic supporter) that was murdered for his faith,by a rabid sectarian mob:

Now i am going to have to question the upbringing of this animal whom was subsequently convicted of the most heinous of crimes.

Well done to the Orange Order & the Royal Black Institution for suspending his membership of both organisations.

Good post, I have been trying to get my head round all of those events. Who played Brechin City in the Ramsden’s Cup, Rangers FC, Sevco or The Rangers. If it was Sevco then that would mean all of the players on the books of Rangers FC would have to have their contracts transferred to Sevco. (a lot of paperwork) Then when they changed their name to The Rangers the contracts would have to be transferred again. (a lot more paperwork) Sorry if I am going round in circles. Now my question is who played QOS in the Ramsden’s Cup, if it was The Rangers would all of the players registered to Sevco not be cup tied and therefore not eligble to play for The Rangers in that competition. Finally, how could an organisation, SFA/SPL/SFL, that took about 3 weeks to handle one players registration (George Cadette) handle all of these registrations and reregistrations in a matter of days. This has been bugging me since it’s inception and I truly hope that some of you more learned Bhoys and Ghirls can set me straight. TIA……….Weeman67
