‘I AM SURE WE WILL HEAR THAT ROAR AGAIN,’ LENNON’S EURO WISH

NEIL LENNON insists Celtic can be a roaring success against Lazio in the Europa League Group E confrontation at Parkhead on Thursday night.

The Hoops boss was delighted at his team’s display against Ross County at the weekend following the back-to-back hiccups against Hibs (1-1) and Livingston (0-2).

The eight-in-a-row champions fired their way back to the Premiership pinnacle with a rousing performance against Ross County as Odsonne Edouard (2), Mohamed Elounoussi (2), Callum McGrgeor and James Forrest netted without reply as the Highlanders were routed.

Lennon, speaking to Celtic TV, said: “It’s a good response to one point from the last six.

“I think we have a good team here, without getting carried away.

“We are in a good position in the group and that should give us a lot of confidence going into what should be a cracking game against Lazio.

“I hope the fans enjoyed it because that was for the fans as much as anyone else and now we are under the lights on Thursday night and I am sure will hear that roar again.”

Lennon has seen his side carve out four points to sit on top of their Europa section following a well-earned 1-1 draw with Rennes in France in the opening game where Ryan Christie nervelessly swept in a penalty-kick equaliser.

And that form continued with a 2-1 success over Champions League conquerors Cluj where Odsonne Edouard  and Mohamed Elyounoussi got the crucial goals.

Now the Serie outfit are in Lennon’s sights as he plots for another memorable European night in the east end of Glasgow.
