TOMAS CVANCARA made his debut and lasted 65 minutes of Celtic’s 2-2 draw with Hearts at Tynecastle following a whirlwind three days for the towering striker.
The Borussia Monchengladbach frontman agreed a short-term loan with an option to buy with the Hoops on Thursday and was pitched straight into the firing line for the team’s crucial encounter in Edinburgh yesterday.
It was a fairly hectic baptism for the Czech Republic international as he made his first competitive start since November.
Cvancara set up his new team’s second goal for Yang Hyun-jun following a dynamic driving run on the left after hitting Craig Gordon’s crossbar with a header shortly beforehand.

HE WENT THATAWAY…new Bhoy Tomas Cvancara gives Hearts skipper Craig Halkett the slip.
Plus he was yellow-carded – one of six Celtic players to be booked – by card-happy referee Steven McLean before being withdrawn by Martin O’Neill as the interim gaffer introduced Sebastian Tounekti to the action.
It was an eventful first appearance for the new Bhoy who insists he will improve as he settles into life in Glasgow.
Cvancara, speaking to Celtic TV, said: “It was a difficult game for me, but I think I can help with better performances.
“Of course, I was happy with the assist for Yang, but I would say I can offer a little bit more.”
The 25-year-old attacker will be in the stand on Thursday evening when O’Neill’s men play Utrecht in the Europa League, but is likely to take his Parkhead bow against Falkirk in the Premiership on Sunday.
