‘I DON’T HAVE ANYTHING TO PROVE,’ SINCLAIR

SCOTT SINCLAIR has warned Robert Mancini he’s a different player from the one he signed for Manchester City in an £8million deal with Swansea in 2012.

The Celtic winger has recovered his best form following a spell at the Etihad and a season to forget at relegated Aston Villa before Brendan Rodgers signed him for the Hoops for £4.5million in the summer of 2016.

Now the 17-goal winger is aiming to show the Zenit St Petersburg boss his true qualities in tonight’s Europa League first leg tie at Parkhead.

Sinclair said: “When I went to City, I only played a couple of games under him, but there were so many players there I didn’t get as much game time as I would have liked.

“I’m a much different player now from then.

“I don’t have a point to prove to him. It’s for myself. When you play, you have these targets and you have the levels at which you want to play.

“For me, it’s working hard and giving it 100 per cent.”

Sinclair added: “I think the expectation from players and fans is that we’ve got to go out there and win the game.

“It’s going to be tough, they’re a great side, but, for us, it’s to concentrate on what we’re doing, how we play and make sure we win the game.

“We’re an attacking team and we want to go out there and win and score goals, but obviously the main thing is not conceding.”
