‘I NEVER WANTED TO LEAVE HOOPS,’ FORREST

JAMES FORREST has his eyes on a trophy avalanche at Celtic after the Brendan Rodgers Revolution got off to the perfect start with a 3-0 win over Aberdeen in the Betfred League Cup Final yesterday.
The rejuvenated winger scored a spectacular second goal as the Hoops eased their way to a historic 100th silverware success at Hampden.
Forrest, who looked on the way out during Ronny Deila’s two-year reign, is flourishing under the guidance of the Irishman and agreed an extended deal earlier this season.
After his Man-of-the-Match performance against the well-beaten Dons, Forrest said: “I never, ever wanted to leave. I got my chance to come out and say that when I did.

“I just want to keep playing with this club. It’s a massive club and you win trophies, and I just want to keep doing that.

“It’s been a great start to get the first medal in late November. We just need to keep going and keep doing what we are doing and keep pushing on.

“You remember Cup Finals, so it’s great to score and be part of this top-quality team.”
