VACLAV CERNY is at the centre of probe from the SFA and Police Scotland after his highly inappropriate antics near the end of the derby encounter at Parkhead on Sunday.
Rangers’ on-loan Czech winger is caught on film spraying water into the faces of seated Celtic fans as he celebrates his team’s third goal in the 88th minute.
Cerny raced along the touchline to squirt water at the supporters in an unseemly action that could have incited a furious reaction from the home support.
Sky Sports cameras captured the controversial incident as they panned in on Barry Ferguson to film the caretaker manager’s reaction to what turned out to be the winning goal from Hamza Igamane.
The 27-year-old forward who is on loan from Bundesliga is irrefutably identified going through the inflammatory touchline routine and it could have sparked a furious response from the home supporters. Police and security stepped in to defuse a potentially explosive situation.
Police Scotland have confirmed they are looking into the incident and the SFA, too, will launch their own investigation.
Cerny could be hit with a ban that may cut short his stay in Glasgow with just eight meaningless league games to play before his temporary transfer expires.
His Ibrox team-mate Dujon Sterling could also be in bother with the Scottish football rulers after an ill-advised Instagram post following the club’s first win at Parkhead in five years.
The London-born defender took to social media to say: “Huge shift by everyone today at that s**hole – it doesn’t get much better! There’s more to come, Gers.”
The post has since been deleted.
The SFA disciplinary bosses have previously sanctioned players for comments deemed offensive or bringing the game into disrepute.
