Ice cream, jelly and our profane enemies

280

Trips to Inverness and Aberdeen offer the Celtic support travelling from the west of Scotland ample opportunity for the odd libation at early lunch stops along the way.  As a result, recent seasons have seen enemies of our club set their recorders to capture every utterance from the famous Celtic away support, keen to grab an opportunity to expose and exploit anything which could possibility cause offence.  These people are a bit like the National Viewers’ and Listeners Association, but with tattoos and a more libertarian take on profanity.

The ice cream and jelly show these guardians of public morals had to endure on Saturday would have caused ultimate distress.  Ultimate, that was, until Sunday brought a new level of consciousness.  And profanity.

It’s almost like everything is coming together for one side of the city while the other side is being Flushed Away.  Like a horrible wee jobby.

Yesterday may have been the most enjoyable day I’ve had reading Celtic Quick News.  As a result, I used the ‘share’ button at the bottom of each comment extensively.  If you are on Facebook or Twitter you can use this button to post your own comment, in context, to your social media facilities.

You can also use it to share, or give prominence to, any comment you think important enough for a wider audience, or simply because it is too funny not to share.  There is a lot of great material on here that deserves to be read as widely as possible.

By default, the share facility places the article title in the text box, which is not very helpful.  So if you use it (which I hope you do after the trouble Andrew in Belfast went to installing it in the first place), it’s a good idea to copy some of the comment and past that into the dialogue box.

  5. NEWS FLASH … NEWS FLASH

Plastic surgeons in West of Scotland hospitals have stepped up their calls for additional resources to deal with the recent upsurge in maxillofacial surgery over the past few days.

Specialists at several hospitals have complained of exhaustion, following the recent spate in operations to remove big cheesy grins and supercilious smiles.

Doctors leaders repeated their calls for health chiefs to provide additional resources to deal with the problem, which is expected to escalate significantly in the coming weeks.

In a separate incident, Police in Lanarkshire have denied reports that the Walls ice cream factory in Coatbridge was raided late on Sunday night by a group of men wearing green and white part hats and wielding gigantic ice cream scoops.

Management at the factory described the reports as farfetched and confirmed that they had sufficient supplies of ice cream to cover almost any eventually.

Also, I’m pretty sure that even the worst Borgias didn’t murder a whole bunch of innocent people in the middle of Mass, as the Assassins Creed game depicts in the setup to excuse making you kill the Pope.

    —–

Perhaps the developers were simply using artistic license and the innocents killed at mass merely an analogy of the thousands of innocents that the Borgias, along with other power hungry pontiffs, were responsible for killing through war, assassination and Inquisition. To even suggest that the game is anti Catholic is going too far. What next shooting Nazis in medal of honour is anti German – wait is that also anti Catholic? Hitler was a Catholic as are over 30% of the German population.

  9. It seems that both the MBB and Fat Sally are now using the tax case as a smokescreen. Where only months ago R*ngers and the media barely acknowledged that it was happening, now every problem and bad result they have is blamed on the uncertainty of the tax case. As far as I can tell R*ngers are in a dire state regardless of the HMRC outcome.

If they win – and I have no idea how likely that is – they will have a second-rate bunch of players, a crumbling stadium, an unsustainable debt (to their misery chairman, who blatantly doesn’t want to part with cash, and/or Ticketus), an operation black-hole of £10m per season as it stands, no hope of new income streams (season ticket tales mortgaged, little prospect of European money, decreasing player assets to sell), a waning fan-base who won’t stick around to see a losing team, and no way of stopping the rot.

If they lose the case, they could end up reincarnated, debt-free, with a measly points deduction for a few years, and with the sympathies of the media, government and football cronies.

Is there any sight more foul than a Whyte jobby?
