ADAM IDAH has notched his eight goals in 17 Celtic appearances since joining on loan from Norwich City late in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international powerhouse got the title party started when he thumped in the fifth-minute opener in the 5-0 romp against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in midweek.
Twenty-four hours after Idah had netted in Ayrshire, his parent club were on the receiving end of a four-goal mauling from Leeds United at Elland Road in the second leg of their Championship Play-Off semi-final.
PICK IT OUT…Adam Idah slams Celtic into the lead in the 5-0 rout of Kilmarnock.
The loss followed a scoreless stalemate at Carrow Road in the first match and torpedoed any hopes of a return to the Premier League for the East Anglian club.
Ironically, Sydney van Hooijdonk, son of the former Hoops goal hero Pierre, fired yet another blank against the Yorkshire outfit.
The Dutchman, poised to leave Serie A outfit Bologna at the turn of the year, had been linked with the Parkhead club in the January transfer window, although Brendan Rodgers was swift to dismiss the notion.
The frontman eventually joined up at David Warner’s team which freed up the opportunity for Idah to move on a short-term deal to Celtic.
JOY BHOYS…Adam Idah celebrates along with Alistair Johnston, Daizen Maeda and Matt O’Riley after notching his eighth goal for Celtic.
The Cork-born hitman is edging towards double figures with two games to play – against St Mirren in today’s 12.30pm kick-off at Parkhead and Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden a week today.
Van Hooijdonk, though, has failed to claim a solitary strike for Norwich in 12 appearances.
Looks like a good bit of business for Brendan Rodgers.
