He picked Celtic off the canvas when he arrived in January last year. Without him, we would never have won the league and circumstances would be very different today.
Ange Postecoglou is odds-on favourite to be named Nottingham Forest manager following the sacking of the much-loved Nuno Espirito Santo. Forest are owned by the less-loved Greek shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis. I hope the bookies see no more than the Greek connection. Perhaps all football clubs offer a harsh environment, but Ange can surely find better soil for his plans.

Brendan had Chris Davies at his side for fifteen years. If he is happy with his backroom staff and the work and contribution they make to our success then so am I. I’ve lost count how many times you have tried to counter a narrative on here that we played “boring” football last season, with reference to number of goals, number of goalscorers etc but the fact is there are some men you just cant reach. Communication is a means to an to an end but it must be with dialogue. So what should the communication be about?
1. Purpose! What is the purpose of Celtic ? If the support have one and The Board have another, then Celtic will remain a house divided. So The Board, the bloggers, the shareholders with STs or regular match goers and the same without shares have to come to agreement on the Purpose of Celtic.
2. Vision. Vision is about seeing what Celtic with a united purpose would look like.
3 Strategy. That is the planning to fulfil the Vision and Purpose.
4 Policy. That is the setting down of what can be or needs to be done and what needs avoided to fulfil the Strategy.
5. Actions. This is where the tasks and individual are identified and resources allocated to make things that further the strategy happen. e.g a savvy communications team
6., Set indicators to measure achievement against of the Actions and keep the Strategy on track.
7 Review . Are 4, 5 and 6 producing the desired result. Is everything that is being done align with the purpose?
If the aim is to end division then establishing The Purpose of Celtic needs to be step 1.

Yes, that’s a very important asset in the modern game.
You hear lots of myth and legend and hearsay about this subject.
Of course great managers of the past had their methods; Stein, Shankly, Clough etc – were rather notorious for their methods, SAF’s hairdryer for instance.
However it seems to be important in the current climate to have the skill-set and emotional intelligence to man manage professionsl footballers effectively.
It was interesting listening to Kelechi Iheanacho on Brendan Rodgers man management…
[Brendan Rodgers was] Massively important in my career, he looked after me very well when I was at Leicester, he gave me the opportunity to show my talent in Leicester, as well as to help the team win trophies, he’s a great manager, he’s a great person, he’s got a great personality.
I’m happy to play for him as well, I’m happy to be a Celtic player as well.

This is a key attribute in a head coach and the approach of Club Executives like Old School managers must change.
Micheal Nicholson & Co dealings with players in the last transfer window, while BR&Co are trying to prepare a team for important games was woefully neglect and counter productive.
It’s good that the Peter Lawwells and Daniel Levys of this world are moving on, but it seems like this important attribute and the emotional intelligence is not only devoid in the hierarchy, it was looked on as a weakness rather than the necessary skill set it is.
