CELTIC have upped their offer for Adam Idah after their previous bid of £4.5miilion for the striker was knocked by Norwich City.

The champions are back in negotiations with the Championship club for the Republic of Ireland international powerhouse who netted nine goals – including the Scottish Cup Final winner – in his 19 loan appearances last season.

The Hoops bosses are pushing to get the deal over the line before Sunday’s trip to face Hibs at Easter Road where the hitman claimed his first strikes for the club via the penalty spot in a dramatic 2-1 win in February.

DIDN’T HE DO WELL…Adam Idah slides in one of his double in Celtic’s 3-1 win over Motherwell in February.

Talks are ongoing and the East Anglian club are looking for a financial package of around £8million for the Cork-born forward who still has four years to run on his contract, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

It’s likely the Parkhead men will target a figure around the £6million mark as a down payment with add-ons to take the fee to a level that will be acceptable for the Norfolk club.

Brendan Rodgers has already stated the 23-year-old attack-leader is a priority signing as he strengthens his squad before the August 30 deadline.
