If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

The graphic below is just for a flick through, to read the magazine go here to it’s dedicated site.

  1. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!..Truth and Justice will always prevail on

If the vote is for integrity, our only hope for justice & truth is HMRC, UEFA ….

  2. Can’t remember who posted this afternoon about the generous odds available on Chleski to win today against a v pish Liverpool. I filled my boots at 2.8 (9/5) on Betfair. Cheers!!!

  3. Can someone please clarify….

Given the 99.99% certainty that many of the top players WILL simply walk away from Rangers FC (In Administration) and that some form of sanctions WILL have to be enforced. No new owner will splash mega millions….so next season will see a very low standard / youthful side.

What happens if they finish outwith the top 6…so no 4 games v Celtic will the rules be changed.

What happens if they actually get relegated (their U19s finished FIFTH against same age range) will the league format be changed

As Scottish Football will already have lost all integrity what would it matter then to apply these changes and consign Scottish Football into the biggest laughing stock in world football.

Aye, I supose there is a lot of reaction to listning to the MSM and a few bits of title tatle and hearsay, what are we like eh.

Problem is though, if we do wait, it may well be too late, the hun will have won the war.

Whatever, what will be will be.

If Rangers were to be relegated next season the league format would be changed to a twenty team league. If these relegations continued over the coming seasons we would end up with one massive league.

Yes, I will. Once we’ve sold our soul, any and all change can be facilitated to help the FC Money Mint.

It’s for everyone’s benefit after all.

I’ve seen lots of references to Nottingham Forest suing Anderlecht for bribing the referee in their 1984 UEFA Cup semi-final. I’ve not seen any reports of the outcome. I don’t think the club/players started procedings until 13 years after the event. That was when UEFA ruled on the breach of law.

Regards your article I think it has a green tint glass on it. I well remember tying to oust the White/Kelly axis. The CSA could not be engaged and it was left to the ‘fanzine bampots’ of the time to lead.

Fergus then spent some years trying to burst the misallocation of tickets in a corrupt system.

James Forrest has stated hearsay. I would not expect PL to say anything at a CSA rally or any other forum. Why then would he have an ‘open’ conversation with Ernie or anyone else.

On the other hand, if you’re offering a genuine dialogue opportunity where he actually says something then perhaps Ernie could be accompanied by MWD and me as well. I suspect though he would not say anything of any significance.

I think some posters are missing the point about pulling the plug. It’s not about harming Celtic, it’s pulling the plug on the SPL, the TV deal etc to force the issue further. No Celtic, no league and no TV deal.

    Season Book

Interesting that the final date for renewal is before all of this plays out. I’ve had a book going back to standing in the Celtic end prior to Fergus, but I would like to know what I’m buying. That’s unlikely by 18th May.

I will write to Peter asking if he’s prepared to extend the date based on resolving what the ticket will actually buy next season.

Imagine for decades you knew you were being cheated.

I agree we have been cheated, however, at this point, we are still awaiting FTT to prove that to everyone else. Regardless of that, it appears the Admin stunt is a clear cheat on this years tax bill.

I feel in the whole Celtic have been very well lead and that until decisions are taken we cannot judge them in advance. However, I do wish we had truly outstanding leadership. Such leadership is very , very good compared to exceptional, Martin O’Neill instead of Jock Stein or a forward line of McGarvey, Nicholas an McCluskey instead of Larsson, Sutton and Hartson so to speak.Exceptional leadership could be talking publicly and yet keep the story as being Rangers and keep the support on board. I believe that by saying nothing so far PL et al have at least made sure that MSM have had no opportunity to go after Celtic and turn popular opinion against us ( seems fans of all clubs continue to oppose newco ). This is a small victory in its self.

I wish Govan Oldco would melt and go away, I wish in fact that they would be humiliated, thrown out of football etc. I feel sad this won’t happen. I feel sure that what ever happens Celtic and Scottish football will be worse off. If Govan Oldco do in fact die ( which I want ) a huge amount of football pounds will go with them ( affecting most other teams in Scotland to a far greater extent than it will affect us ). If a newco drops into SPL a huge amount of fans of other teams ( inc us ) will give up on the game.

For Scottish football it seems to me like a Lose, Lose situation.

Still enjoying their pain, glad I am living to see it. But the only thing I am sure of is that nothing will actually happen until FTT result is out.

  17. I normally come on this site for a laugh n stuff. I seldom get involved in any serious debate, albeit I enjoy reading it, but, I must say that ernie lynch hit a raw nerve for me tonight…..he said…if Dermot Desmond wants a newco in the spl…..they’ll be in……and if he doesn’t…….they won’t.

I can’t see past that statement. DD must have enough political clout, and of course, endless millions of pounds…..to ensure this can go whatever way he likes.

    Michael Johnstone’s statement is interesting.

It is next seasom and a weakened Rangers are playing Killie whilst St Mirren are playing ICT.

Saints and Rangers are level on points but a good victory for Rangers by 5 goals propels them up the league.

Saints win 1-0 but Rangers put 5 past Killie.

You are a St Mirren supporter. What is the point?

Personally, I wouldn’t go, but I can fully understand why some fans will always follow Celtic no matter what… the problem is that Johnson’s statement is probably what the majority of other SPL club chairman are thinking…. they just haven’t come out and said it. I get the feeling they suspect that Uefa might just pay attention to the whole sorry affair and step in.

So far, Uefa’s statement on the SFA’s anticipated conduct is fine; if the SFA dont follow those guidelines, that’s when Uefa should step in… but here’s another problem. Its possible they might come crashing in and ban all scottish clubs from European competition. Thats my worst fear in all of this.

While I agree that not much will happen until the FTT rules, everybody seems to be missing the point.

The FTT is an appeal, the hun have been found to have acted unlawfully, used dual contracts to gain an advantage over all the other clubs.

The sfa/spl have NO need to wait for the FTT to rule.

As it stands the hun have cheated.

It would be interesting to know how many supporters Scottish football will lose if Newco. get straight into the SPL. I suspect it will be many thousands and Scottish football will wither and become a minority sport in Scotland and Celtic will have to downsize even further to survive. H.H.

WITS – I don’t agree with Canamalar on many things, but you’re wrong about just forgetting any kind of legal action about previous seasons. I say that knowing what you do for a living!

If they lose the FTT and are also found guilty of dual contracts, then they will have committed the biggest fraud in the history of British sport…bar none. With major question marks over the people who have been governing the game in this country.

There might well be a case of conspiracy to defraud a PLC to be answered by various individuals or organisations.

If HMRC do their job, I will be very surprised if there’s no criminal convictions when this is all done and dusted.

    Auldhied,

What we are seeing now within the support is nothing to the feeling we all will have when they get the first dodgy decision for a pen that lets them get 3 points next season as R****** 2012.

I am renewing my 2 tickets regardless next season, but depending on what happens, i will not fund any other SPL club that is party to their pain free re-admittance, if they want the hun pound let them have it.

This is the biggest sporting scandal in the history of world football, the financial doping of them in the last 20 years since Murray took over is staggering, add on St Craig Whytes tenure and what we are seeing here is nothing short of astounding, no other league in the world would be party to this.

But according to the meedja, gang of 10 and the footballing authorities it has all

to be swept under the carpet and we have to continue as normal….?

As i say wait until they run out next season at ibrox in red white and blue, belting out their bile………..with no sanctions and debt free, its enough to tae make you spew!
